James Middleton, Kate Middleton’s brother, has shared a cute dog selfie after taking an unintentional post-wedding Instagram break to ‘enjoy these first few months with my new wife’

James, the younger sibling of the Duchess of Cambridge, 39, and Pippa Middleton, 37, who got engaged to Alizée Thevenet, 32, in September 2019 but had to delay the ceremony twice in the last year due to Covid, finally tied the knot in Bormes-les-Mimosas in Provence in September.

The 34-year old posted a photo of Ella, his Cocker Spaniel, on Instagram Wednesday. This was in violation of his social media detox that he had undertaken following September’s wedding.

Alongside the photo, he penned: ‘I’ve been so immersed in embracing & enjoying the first few months of being with my new wife. I’ve realised I have unintentionally taken a social detox… which I suppose is no bad thing…BUT we are back – hope you don’t mind.’

James, who can go weeks without posting on social networks, encouraged his followers not to post.

He wrote that he recommends a social media detox every now and again. ‘Over the last few months many of you have reached out…and thank you for checking up on me it means a lot.’

Prior to this, James’ last post was on September 12, when he announced his marriage with a picture of him and bride Alizée on Instagram and penned: ‘Words cannot describe how happy I am.’

Alizee, who swept her hair into a half-up do for the event, with two tendrils down each side of her face, opted for an off-the-shoulder gown which featured pretty lace detailing across the bodice.

Meanwhile, James looked every piece the proud groom, donning a white linen suit for the laid back event.

The newlyweds were joined by 50 guests including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their three children at the Chateau Leoube, an exclusive vineyard in the village that produces some of France’s finest rose wine.

Chateau Leoube is the property of Anthony Bamford (British billionaire JCB chairman) and Carole Bamford (wife).

Carole is quoted by the vineyard about how they fell in love when they first saw the vineyard in 1997.

She says: ‘Anthony and I had been looking for a house in Provence for a while when we eventually found Léoube, our sleeping beauty.

The newly-weds and many of their guests are understood to have stayed the night at Chateau Leoube. Earlier the couple had been married by the mayor at the town hall

Chateau Leoube was the place where they stayed with their guests and newlyweds. The couple had been married earlier by the mayor at the town council.

‘Set back from a quiet bay on the coastline, the house had been owned by the same family for years but hadn’t really been touched – we fell in love with it.’

Miss Thevenet is a trilingual French financial analysts. He met Miss Middleton in 2018 when Ella, his cocker spaniel approached him at a London private members’ club.

The couple, who announced their engagement on January 19, 2019, originally planned to wed in May last year.

They were twice forced by the court to move the date back. He said in a post on Instagram in September last year: ‘It’s a year since I asked Alizée to marry me… what a year it’s been!

‘Two homes lockdown, two attempts to wed, a litter [dog emoji], launching new company @ella.co and a beard shave. But the best part is that it’s all shared with me @alizeethevenet. I’m excited to see what the future holds and can’t wait for you to join me.
