Mr Pogo told the Standard: ‘Every day I wake up is like the day she attacked me. It seems like the time has stopped.

“Everytime there’s a knock on the door, I fear someone will hurt me. My world was once hers, but she used to do this to me. “I just don’t get it.

He didn’t realize his girlfriend was the culprit at first and asked his girlfriend for help.

She pretended she was calling 999 and blocked his friends from calling.

Afrifa attacked again as Mr Pogo lay on the couch with his already severe wounds.

A passer-by stranger helped him to get medical attention after he ran screaming from his flat.

Afrifa mistakenly believed that her boyfriend was with a university classmate. However, she said she tried to make him drink acid from a Nike sport bottle. But he wasn’t saved because he distrusted tap water.

Pogo moved to Britain in order to study film. He was suffering from mental trauma, permanent eye and head damage, and was left permanently blind.

Judge Charles Bourne, QC sentenced Afrifa for 14 years imprisonment. He called it “a wicked thing to have done”.

Afrifa was found loitering near an alleyway and taken into custody. Later, she was charged and took into custody.

The investigating officer Detective Constable Tom Dawood stated that the victim sustained horrific injuries from Afrifa. He has been in hospital for months since then.

‘I’d like to commend London Ambulance Service colleagues and London Fire Brigade, who quickly attended the scene and rendered vital first aid which undoubtedly decreased the severity of his injuries.

“It is a great relief that Afrifa, for her horrendous crime, has been brought to justice and she will be serving a serious custodial sentence.”
