In the last few years President Joe Biden has been in the headlines for the things that he said and did – not necessarily because of his policy.
The 79-year old has a talent for making mistakes.
Biden has been known to mix up answers, make mistakes and even digress while giving speeches.
One or two times, the Commander-in-Chief was even caught on camera tripping. This raises questions about his physical condition.
DailyMail.com has compiled many of Biden’s notable mis-speaks, foot-in-mouth moments and slips.
REPEATED MIXING LIBYA AND SYRIA
‘I’m hopeful that we can find an accommodation where we can save the lives of people in — for example, in — in Libya,’ the president said, mentioning the north African country for the third time instead of Syria, in the Middle East. Biden was photographed in Cornwall, United Kingdom, June 13, 2013.
Later, the White House brushed off the confusion and confirmed that Syria was in fact, where Russia has been fighting a civil war for ten years.
Biden confused Syria and Libya during discussions about ways to work with Russia at a G7 press conference on June 13.
The gaffe machine, aged 78, said that he would work with Russian President Vladimir Putin in order to offer economic assistance for the Libyan population. It caused some puzzled glances among the G7 Summit press group, which was held in Cornwall, England.
‘I’m hopeful that we can find an accommodation where we can save the lives of people in — for example, in — in Libya,’ the president said, mentioning the north African country for the third time instead of Syria, which is in the Middle East.
The White House quickly clarified the confusion and confirmed that Trump was speaking about Syria. Syria is where Russia, US, and others have been fighting for over a decade.
TRIPING WHEN BOARDING THE AIR FORCE One
Biden, the President of the United States has been guilty of many gaffes over the years. He has also been caught on camera falling while walking up stairs at Air Force One. Pictured: President Joe Biden falls while walking up the steps of Air Force One’s stairs on March 19, 2009.
He was caught on March 19 tripping over the steps as he boarded Air Force One from Joint Base Andrews
Video of Biden falling down the steps as he boarded Air Force One from Joint Base Andrews on March 19th, 2009.
In the clip, Biden stumbles as he walks up the airstairs. To balance himself, he grabs at the handrail but then loses his footing twice more.
He falls to his knees during the third stumble. He manages to get up on the roof of the plane without slipping and gives an honorable salute before vanishing inside.
Karine Jean-Pierre, White House Deputy Press Secretary, later said to reporters that Biden was fine and was now preparing for Atlanta.
“It is very windy outside. It is very windy. She said that she almost fell when she climbed up the steps.
KAMALA CALLING ‘PRESIDENTHARRIS’
One day before, he called Vice President Kamala Harris ‘President Harris” during a press conference held on March 18. (see photo).
Biden had mistakenly called Kamala Harris, Vice President Kamala Harris, “President Harris” just one day prior.
The gaffe was made during a March 18 press conference, during which he celebrated his administration’s closeness to achieving their 100 million COVID-19 vaccination doses within his first 100 days of office.
Biden stated that President Harris took him on a virtual tour through an Arizona vaccination center not too long ago. One of the nurses who was on that tour giving injections to people and administering vaccinations said each shot was like giving a dose hope.
Harris stood behind Biden while he continued his speech. However, Harris did not make any corrections.
Later that day, when the White House released the transcript of his speech, Harris’s proper title was inserted with brackets.
GRANTED NAME FOR SECRETARY of DEFENSE
Biden, while giving a speech in March 2009, seemed to forget that Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin was also present (as shown above).
Biden appeared to stumble with his speech from March 9 and lose the title of his speech Lloyd Austin is Secretary of Defense
Biden stated, “I would like to say thank you Sec-the former general-but I continue calling him “General””.
“My” – The guy running that clothing over there. We want to thank Secretary, for everything he did to help us implement the ideas we have just discussed and for suggesting these women to be promoted.
Even though he mentioned Austin’s name just moments earlier without any issue, the slip occurred.
INTRODUCES GRANDDAUGTER AS HIS SISTER
Biden, on November’s Election Day introduced a large crowd to his grand-daughter, but called her his son.
Biden misunderstood Beau Biden’s speech at Philadelphia’s Election Day Speech.
Biden told the crowd: ‘I want to introduce you to two of my granddaughters…this is my son, Beau Biden who a lot of you helped elect to the Senate in Delaware.’
Although the commander-in chief had intended to introduce the crowd to Natalie Beau’s child, he didn’t just mix up the name and the person. He also wrapped his arms around Finnegan Biden Hunter’s little girl.
As he wrapped his arms around Natalie’s shoulders, he finally said “This is Natalie. Beau is my daughter.”
Beau Biden, one of most deadly types of brain cancers, died in 2015.
TOLD STATESENATOR IN WHEELCHAIR – STAND UP
Biden, then-Missouri senator, told Chuck Graham in 2008 to support the rally crowd. He soon realized that he was disabled and was now in a wheelchair.
Biden did not make all his gaffes during the 2020s, or the 2010s. Some of these gaffes were actually made in the early aughts.
After Biden was named as former President Barack Obama’s running mate in September 2008, Biden attended a Missouri campaign rally.
That was where he called Chuck Graham, a former Missouri state senator who had died in December 2013. to defend the crowd.
I’m sure Chuck Graham, the senator from South Carolina, was there. Biden stated, “Stand up Chuck. Let ’em See You.”
Graham realized that he was now in a wheelchair because of muscular dystrophy.
“Oh God, I love you.” You don’t know what I am talking about. That’s what I mean. You make everyone stand up.
According to the Columbia Tribune, Graham said he was never offended by the mistake.
