According to The Independent, JK Rowling was not omitted from the Harry Potter reunion as had been believed.
The publication has viewed a teaser of the New Year’s Day Special. It shows Bonnie Wright as Ginny Weasley. Daniel Radcliffe, who played the main character and was the inspiration for Hagrid’s creator, Robbie Coltrane. Discussion about the author.
The alleged absence of Harry Potter creator JK, 56, comes amid the ongoing row over her views on transgender issues and while it was initially believed she would not feature at all, she does crop up in conversation and archive footage.

She’s back: JK Rowling has not been snubbed from the Harry Potter reunion, as previously believed, according to The Independent (pictured in 2018)
It is a highly anticipated reunion that Daniel will join Emma Watson (played Hermione Granger) and Rupert Grint (played Ron Weasley), in the eagerly anticipated event.
Despite the star-studded turn out, the author behind the stratospherically successful franchise, JK Rowling, was not in attendance at the reunion special.
She will however be the subject of discussion among cast members as she explains her penmanship to The Independent.
Bonnie shared that JK Rowling was a popular author. Daniel said, however, that it is easy to forget the fact that, at the time people were talking of ‘the death reading.’

Robbie Coltrane spoke out about the author.
Robbie agreed: “One reason I admire JK so greatly is that millions of people now read books, who never would have picked up a book in their life. And you suddenly realize the power and beauty of writing.”
JK won’t be participating in the special due to much controversy over her past years following her tweets about biological sex that led to backlash from trans people and subsequent cancellation by them.
She took to Twitter in June 2020 to critique an opinion piece using the term “people who menstruate” instead of women. Next, she started a thread about biological sex.

This was in 2001: JK is seen with Rupert, Danielle and Danielle at Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone.
After clarifying her feelings, she said she supports ‘every trans person’s right to live authentically and comfortably’. Then she added that she would march for anyone who was discriminated against due to being trans.
The Associated Press reports that she also said “At the exact same time, I have been shaped because of being female,” as the Associated Press stated at the time. I don’t think it’s a hateful thing to say that.
She was again confronted with transphobia in September 2020 when it became clear that Troubled Blood’s villain – Rowling’s pseudonym Robert Galbraith wrote it – was a male serial murderer who dressed as a woman in order to slaughter his victims.
These remarks led to the resignation of Harry Potter’s actors Rupert and Emma, as well as Eddie Redmayne (who stars in the Fantastic Beasts movies she criticised), the author.
