Joey Barton is now in custody for his alleged assault on another football manager.

Fleetwood’s manager at that time was Barton, and Stendel is said to have been assaulted in a tunnel following Barnsley’s League One win. 

He is alleged to have pushed him at the South Yorkshire club’s Oakwell stadium, leaving him with a damaged tooth.

After the League One match between Fleetwood & Barnsley ended in a 4-2 win for Barnsley, the Burnley and Newcastle United player was taken into custody. 

According to some reports, Mr Stendel may have a broken upper incisor tooth. He will need a crown after continuing dental treatment.

Stendel was a German coach who left Yorkshire to pursue the allegations against him. 

Barton participated in more than 250 football matches throughout his career.

In 2018, Fleetwood Town, a League One club managed by Barton, was founded.

In February, he moved to Bristol Rovers. However, the club was in a relegation fight and fell to League Two.

He was a member of the Manchester City youth system and appeared for them 150 times during his playing career.

He is best remembered for his time at Newcastle United, who he joined for a £5.8million fee.
