Justin Bieber has revealed that he has suffered temporary facial paralysis from Ramsay Hunt syndrome just days after being forced to cancel dates on his Justice World Tour.
On Friday, the pop singer at 28 shared a short video on Instagram explaining that shingles can cause facial paralysis.
According to Mayo Clinic the Ramsay Hunt Syndrome can cause temporary paralysis and hearing loss. However, it is possible for the condition to become chronic.
Justin couldn’t blink his right eye, and his right side was frozen. Justin began the video by saying “Hello Justin! I just wanted to update everyone on how things have been.”

On Tuesday, the artist had announced that he was postponing the ‘next few shows’ of his seven-leg, 130-date Justice World Tour due ‘non-Covid related illness.’
‘Can’t believe I’m saying this. I’ve done everything to get better but my sickness is getting worse,’ the 28-year-old pop star – who boasts 539.2M social media followers – wrote.
Justin’s right eye was unable to blink and the right side of his face did not move as he began the video saying: ‘Hey everyone Justin here, I wanted to update you guys on what’s been going on’
‘Obviously as you can probably see with my face. I have this syndrome called Ramsay Hunt syndrome and it is from this virus that attacks the nerves in my ear and my facial nerves and has caused my face to have paralysis,’ Justin continued

What is RAMSAY HUNT TYPE? RARE COMPLICATIONS OF SHINGLES, THAT CAN LEAD TO FACIAL DIALYSIS
Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a form of shingles that is caused by the same virus (VZV) as chickenpox (VZV), can cause facial paralysis.
After years of dormancy, the virus is reactivated and causes irritation and inflammation to facial nerves.
VZV can be treated with antiviral medication.
If the immune system has been compromised and becomes less effective in fighting infection, then it is possible for the virus to be reactivated. Stress is often a trigger.
Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a side effect of shingles, can cause facial paralysis.
RHS is predicted to affect five out of every 100 Americans. According to the NHS, it poses the same threat in the UK.
RHS is rarely a problem in children, since it most commonly affects people over 60.
The treatment usually includes antiviral medication. Three days should be allowed before doctors recommend that patients seek treatment.

Sources close to Hailey claim that Hailey was suffering from a medical condition which affected her movements. They also shared with them the fact that Hailey had been tested to determine what caused her illness.
Since Justin had already been diagnosed in March with COVID-19 earlier, doctors were concerned her symptoms may have been due to the virus. But no evidence was available.
