Kate Garraway seems to have confirmed that the mystery Royal who supported her during Derek Draper’s Covid battle is the same person as she thought.

The 54-year-old Good Morning Britain star spoke to Prince Charles on Thursday about his kindness, which she referred to in her memoir The Power Of Hope.

Kate said that she was very grateful to you for being so kind to me after my husband fell ill with Covid shortly after receiving the last Prince’s Trust awards. You wrote to me and gave me help, so thank you very much… and he did improve.’

Kate first wrote about the gesture in her memoir, but did not confirm the Royal’s identity. This led to Thursday’s revelation that Charles was the one who contracted the virus.

She wrote in The Power Of Hope, which was released in April. It was wonderful, I thought, though it seemed almost surreal.

Kate is a carer for her husband Derek, who continues to battle ‘devastating’ effects of long Covid, after falling ill with coronavirus in March 2020.

The virus caused severe damage to his liver, kidneys, and pancreas.

His heart stopped repeatedly, he suffered from bacterial pneumonia, and he was infected with multiple infections.

After testing positive in March 2020, the Prince of Wales stated that he had experienced’relatively mild symptoms of Covid-19′ last year.

In an interview with Sky News, he spoke out about his experience with the deadly infection. He told Rhiannon Mills, royal correspondent, that he was fortunate in his case and was able to get away with it very lightly. But it was something I had to go through and I can see how others have done it.

He said, “I feel especially for those who have lost loved ones and are unable to be there at the time.” This to me is the most horrible thing.

Penny Juror, royal biographer, told The Sunday Times that his battle with the virus has made him ‘able to understand people going though terrible times’ and he’shows leadership’.

She stated that ‘that he caught the virus was one of the best things to have happened’.

It echoes Queen Mother and King George VI standing shoulder to shoulder during the Second World War, after Buckingham Palace was bombed.

She also stated that Charles has been’seen and heard’ by more people during lockdown and that he has made good use of his platform throughout the pandemic.
