The Duchess of Cambridge was festive in a scarlet Catherine Walker coat as she arrived to host a Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey this afternoon.

Kate Middleton, 39, cut an elegant figure as she stepped out for the Together At Christmas event in London today, which celebrates the ‘incredible work’ of pandemic heroes including charity workers, teachers and volunteers.

The mother-of-three debuted a new red coat dress for the outing, which featured a large bow detailing across the bodice, as she stepped out with Prince William, 39.

The coat dress, thought to be worth around £3,000, is a new ensemble for the Duchess, who previously wore a black version of the coat to attend Prince Philip’s funeral in April.

Meanwhile the royal added a touch of glamour to her outfit with the Queen Mother’s sapphire and diamond fringe earrings, and carried her red suede bag by Miu Miu.

The service, which will include musical performances from stars including Ellie Goulding and Leona Lewis, has been developed with BBC Studios Events Productions but will be broadcast on ITV at 7.30pm on Christmas Eve as part of a special programme called Royal Carols: Together At Christmas.

In the aftermath of the two-part series The Princes and the Press (which was criticised by the Queen and Prince Charles as being biased), Prince William and Kate apparently dropped the BBC to broadcast their Christmas special. Credibility of ‘overblown, unfounded claims’ regarding the Royal Family

It was a look of true love. As they arrived for the service, this was documented by The Duke.

Kate gave a masterclass on festive glamour and wore her brunette hair down, completing the look with gold earrings and delicate necklaces.

The Royal Foundation supported the event and The Duchess hosted it. The event pays tribute to all those who supported their communities in the COVID-19 crisis.

This service, which will be broadcast on television, is intended to provide an opportunity for people across the country to gather and reflect. It allows them to not only think about the amazing challenges we’ve faced but also to recognize the acts of kindness we have seen in our nation. Communities have come together to support and help those in greatest need. And those who are willing to do their bit to make others happy.

The service will combine traditional elements and a modern, inclusive feeling to include people of all religions. It will also feature carols performed by the Westminster Abbey Choir alongside musical performances from Leona Lewis or Ellie Goulding.

In recognition of their selfless acts and tireless efforts despite extremely difficult circumstances, unsung heroes have been invited by the Nation to the Service.

Nominations have been drawn from Lieutenancies across the UK, alongside community networks, charitable organisations and patronages of Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The Duchess of Cambridge and others who The Duke of Edinburgh have spent time with in their engagements will be there, as well as those involved in key areas where The Royal Foundation and Their Royal Highnesses continue to concentrate.

This congregation will include members of the armed forces who participated in Operation Pitting as well as young people who are faith leaders and those who might be vulnerable.

Hosted and spearheaded by The Duchess, and supported by The Royal Foundation, the event will pay tribute to the incredible work of individuals and organisations across the UK who have supported their communities through the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Duchess shared an earlier photo from the Abbey as rehearsals began today.

Her post was:Rehearsals ahead of tonight’s #TogetherAtChristmas carol service.

“We’ll be reflecting upon the incredible challenges that have been faced recently and celebrating acts of kindness we’ve witnessed in the country as people came together to assist each other.”

ITV’s Christmas Special is a major coup, as it usually loses royal content to BBC.

An industry insider said earlier this month: ‘It was all arranged to be on BBC1 but it was switched in the last few days because of the terrible row over the documentary.

“And things will get worse between Royal Family and BBC before they get better, as the second half of the documentary threatens even further.”

Last week’s second episode of the documentary featured Meghan Markle. lawyer issue a technical and bizarre denial the Duchess had ever bullied staff – before insisting ‘but she wouldn’t want to negate anyone’s personal experiences.’

It was also reported that people with connections to the Sussexes or Cambridges were briefed on the other.

Kate will be sure to forget any grumblings about the documentary before the next week’s carol service.

In an Instagram post, the Duke and Duchess commented on the Carol Service.

The Royal Foundation will support the Duchess’ Christmas carol service next week at Westminster Abbey. It is expected to bring together many inspiring people.

“The December broadcast of this service will reflect on the past 18 months. It will not only look at the extraordinary challenges we all have faced in navigating the COVID-19 pandemic but also the positives, such as people and organizations coming together within their communities and small acts of kindness that span different generations and demographics, and unsung heroes who helped others.

A few words about the BBC being dropped for Christmas concerts: Source from the TV industry told The Sun: ‘It is a brand new format — the royals have never hosted a televised TV concert before. The Duchess is the star of it all.

The BBC is the nation broadcaster for the natural most royal programs. They will likely work with ITV more in the future.

Sources claimed that ITV was shocked but happy by ITV’s abrupt change in plan. They also added, “It will be a spectacular Christmas carol concert, which will be TV Gold for viewers at home.”
