Kate Middleton likes practical gifts to give her children for Christmas amid fears that Princess Charlotte and Prince George, who are both ‘tech-savvy’, may have too much screen time. 

They are currently living in London at Kensington Palace, where they live with Prince George, 7, and Prince Charlotte, 6, as well as their son Prince Louis, 2. 

Katie Nicholl from Vanity Fair spoke out to Okay! Okay! magazine was informed by Katie Nicholl, Vanity Fair’s Katie Nicholl that Kate and William will be ‘thinking more seriously’ about gift buying for their children and will not buy anything extravagant.

She said that George enjoys using his iPad to school. Charlotte and George are both tech-savvy, and they have probably put technical gadgets on their wish lists, just like other children.

Kate Middleton (39), prefers practical Christmas gifts for her children, amid concerns that Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who are supposedly tech-savvy, have too much screen time, according to a royal expert.

“If they’re playing a computer game, or similar to it, then it’s best not to screentime them so that it can be used as a practical present.       

She also shared that the couple is more likely to purchase the children items which are able to be used outdoors or last forever. 

It’s previously been revealed that Kate ‘is very strict on screen time’ and ‘won’t allow Prince George, Princess Charlotte or Prince Louis their own devices’.

Katie Nicholl told Okay! Okay! magazine has been told by Katie Nicholl that she is passionate about encouraging creativity among her children and doesn’t allow them to have their mobile phones or tablets.

The Duke and Duchess are “thinking more closely” about presents for Prince George (7 years) and Princess Charlotte (6 year olds), along with their son Prince Louis (2years). 

She said, “Kate is very strict about screen time and keeps that to a minimum.”  

Katie added: ‘They’ve got climbing frames, swings and a pond, and each of the children are in charge of their own little patch of the kitchen garden.’   

Prince Louis, on the other hand, is more likely to be outside. Katie said that Louis was most content when exploring Anmer’s grounds in Norfolk.        

A source previously told US weekly that the Duke and Duchess had ‘banned iPads’ in their home, commenting that they were ‘adult-toys’ and not for children.

Meanwhile Katie also revealed how the Duchess is more inclined to buy the children something which can be 'used outdoors' or 'last forever'

Katie shared with us how Katie believes that the Duchess will buy her children things which can be “used outside” or “last forever”. 

Kate is a firm believer that children should spend time outside, which will help them build foundations for happiness and health throughout their lives. 

She took on many projects to promote outdoor exploration in 2019, including her Back to Nature garden, which she created for Chelsea Flower Show. Her inspiration came from time with her children in the garden.

She revealed that Princess Charlotte, Prince George and Prince Louis had been actively involved in the collection of moss, logs, and twigs around Anmer Hall to create the garden display.    

Katie’s comments came as Carole Middleton said that Katie had a “very silly Christmas” planned for Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Mother of the Duchess, 66-year-old, lives with Michael in Berkshire. She shared an Instagram snap of two gnomes that are Scandinavian inspired and sold by Party Pieces, her company for celebrations.

She wrote: “I need some of these cheeky guys this December to hide around my house and make all my grandchildren smile.” 

“While I do love perfect decorations, it’s not possible to be serious about Christmas.

Carole also posted a variety of different Christmas trends on her website Party Pieces, including ‘Silly Christmas.’

In December last year, Carole hinted at her choice of Christmas gifts for her family as she said the ‘smallest presents can give the most enjoyment.’ 

She said that her three children, Pippa, Kate and James found flexi-figures incredibly absorbing as they were growing up.
