The video clip was recorded on the same date as a leopard cub running up a tree in safety after being chased down by a hungry hiena.

Moosa Varachia (a 30-year-old photographer and part-time guide) filmed the nail biting chase at the same park in October 25.

A safari party spotted the leopard cub, aged eleven months, hiding under a bush as its mother went hunting for food.

The clip shows one member of the group saying “There’s a leopard at the first bush in front” as a pack four of hyenas appear to prowl around their vehicles.

Before one can retrace their steps and catch the scent of the leopard cub, the hyenas start walking off down the road.

One of the people watching is aware of what is about and repeatedly says, “No, no.

The lone hyena then walks quickly towards the bush, where the leopard cub is hiding. As the young animal suddenly takes cover, it runs in close pursuit.

Unable to reach full speed due to its age, the young cub is very nearly caught by the hyena but manages to reach safety by clinging to a tree and running up it

The cub’s age makes it unable to run at its full speed. However, it manages to escape the danger by clinging onto a tree and running up the tree to safety.

The cub, who is too old to run at full speed, is almost caught by the hyena. However, it manages to escape safety by jumping at a tree trunk and climbing out of reach.

The hyena remains at the base of the tree while the people watching cheer and clap for the dramatic escape.

The leopard cub climbs up the tree, away from immediate danger, and the hyena flees.
