Princess Leonor, a Spanish princess, was accompanied by her parents King Felipe VI, Queen Letizia, and her younger sister as she welcomed the Princess Of Asturias Award winners.

The Spanish royal family met with victors at Oviedo’s Reconquista Hotel in Oviedo in the Principality in Asturias.

Letizia, 49 years old, looked elegant in a Hugo Boss re-used dress. It was the first time she wore it in 2019, at an event commemorating Rare Diseases World Day.

The thrifty queen wore the dress last May when she chaired an event in Madrid about female leadership in the workplace.

Leonor, who is returning to Spain for half term, followed in the style footsteps of her mother and looked effortlessly stylish in a blue, capped sleeves dress.

It comes one day after the Spanish royals attended an historic concert of the Princess Of Asturias Award held in Principe Felipe auditory at Oviedo.

This event is traditionally held on the eve of Princess of Asturias Award. However, it was cancelled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It shares its name with Leonor who is the Spanish heir and holds the title Princess of Asturias. The annual awards are presented annually to individuals or organizations that make outstanding achievements in the sciences, humanities and public affairs.

Felipe, then heir of the throne and before he assumed the throne in 2014, established The Princess of Asturias Awards.

The event was created to strengthen the links between the autonomous community of Principality Of Asturias, and the King, and to promote scientific, cultural, and humanistic development.

Each year the recipients of the awards receive a sculpture created by Spanish prestigious sculptor Joan Miró.
