Rep. Liz Cheney lost Tuesday’s Republican primary in Wyoming to Harriet Hageman, a Trump-backed opponent. But she did hint at a potential presidential run.

Cheney used Jackson as a platform to make concession speeches and made comparisons with President Abraham Lincoln who had lost many races before winning the White House.

Cheney pointed out that Abraham Lincoln had been defeated in the elections for Senate and House, but he did win the most significant election.

Cheney talked about her victory in primary by 70 points over the previous year.

She stated, “I could do it all again. It was easy.”

Her only task was to spread the lies of former President Donald Trump and support his attacks against our democracy.

Cheney stated, “That’s a path that I would never choose to take.”

Cheney stated, “This cannot be a game.” “Everyone of us must dedicate ourselves to the everlasting defense of America,” she stated.

Speaking to supporters at the Cheyenne Frontier Days Event Center, Hageman characterized her win as an effort to ‘dislodge entrenched politicians’ from Washington, D.C.’s ‘uni-party – those Democrats and Republicans who don’t really care which party is in power, just as long as they are.’

Hageman stated that Wyoming has “put the elites on notice” and added that Wyoming is the best place to live if you wish to be a Cowboy State representative.

Cheney was the former President Donald Trump. 1 2022 target, she reveled in the loss.

“This is an amazing result for America and a complete repudiation of the Unselect Committee Of Political Hacks and Thhugs,” the former president stated.

Trump stated, “Liz Cheney must be ashamed of herself and the manner she acted and her spiteful and sanctimonious actions towards other people.” “Now, I believe she can go into political inertia where she’ll be happier than what she’s experiencing right now.

Lynne Cheney and Dick Cheney, former Vice President of the United States, sat with Rep. Liz Cheney as she gave her concession speech.

“Thanks WYOMING!” Trump added.

From the very first returns of ultra-redstate, it was evident that Cheney had lost his way.

Hageman trailed her at first by nine points, and then she was ahead by 25. Cheney was more than 30 points behind Hageman when NBC News and other media called the race.

At the top of her concession speech, she informed her supporters that she had called Hageman and  conceded the race – making the point that part of American democracy is accepting ‘honorably’ election results.

Hageman’s supporters – a number of them sporting cowboy hats – gathered around barrels decorated with cowhides and lassos munching on charcuterie platters or waiting for drinks at corner bar as Tucker Carlson’s Fox News program played on large TVs.

At one point, Another One Bites the Dust, played loudly. When the televisions showed positive returns, cheers were heard from the crowd.

Cheney brought with her, Dick Cheney (ex-Vice President), to Jackson Tuesday morning.

Before going to vote, Cheney stated that he was facing an era in which democracy is at risk and our democracy is being under attack.

Trump is the threat.

She said, “And we, Republicans, Democrats, Independents – all who believe in liberty and who care deeply about the Constitution and its future and are committed to it, I think, have an obligation that this above any party.”

Also, she stated that no matter the outcome, the “fight will continue,” suggesting that even though Tuesday’s loss was disappointing, it didn’t mean that her political career was over.

“Proud to vote today. These are difficult times that require strong leaders to abide by the Constitution and keep it up, she tweeted later.

Wyoming Republicans DailyMail.com interviewed Tuesday at Cheyenne’s Storey Gymnasium. They all voted in Hageman – one Democrat said he opted to stay with his party and not switch sides to help Cheney.

Wyoming residents can change their political party on the day they vote. Voters can vote in any location, provided they have valid identification.

‘Well first of all she should represent her constituents, and she’s not clearly – because that’s why she’s getting voted out – but secondly here’s the reality, she didn’t grow up in Wyoming,’ said 58-year-old Cheyenne resident Roger Forystek, who works in insurance.

Cheney’s father was an elected official, so she split her time between Casper, MN, and Washington, D.C.

“And she is a bit of a spoilt brat in my view. She is an overspoiled brat. She’s so used to getting her way, when she doesn’t, she’s throwing a tantrum,’ Forystek added.

Tacy West, a 77-year-old from Cheyenne, had an even harsher take.

“She is from a criminal family.” According to West, it is well-known that her father was an infamous pedophile.

West is wrong. Dick Cheney was never accused of pedophilia.

She acts insane. West stated, “You can see her in the eyes but she’s gone.”

DailyMail.com was informed by a pastor in the area that his vote to support Hageman was more than he voted for Cheney. He did not want to identify his church because of his religious affiliation.

He said, “She is being sent to principal’s office.”

Cheney has become the most prominent House Republican critic of Trump – currently serving as vice-chair of the House select committee on January 6.

Her No. 3 leadership position in the House Republican Conference was resigned and she has to pay the price. She was relegated to the No. 3 position within the House Republican Conference after Wyoming’s Republican Party expelled her. Wyoming’s 2020 voters had chosen Trump over Joe Biden by 43 points.

The daughter of the former Republican vice president has remained steadfast in her criticism, saying in a campaign ad last week that her party’s embrace of Trump’s ‘big lie’ – his false claims that the 2020 election was stolen from him – is a ‘cancer.’

In the video, she stated that ‘The lie about 2020’ was insidious.

Elle said that false claims could be used by Donald Trump as a tool to influence Americans into abandoning their principles, justifying violence and ignoring the rulings made in our courts.

Abby Humble (a University of Wyoming student aged 20), backed Hageman.

DailyMail.com’s Humble stated that while she didn’t agree with her actions, she believed she was trying to protect the Constitution. “But, at the same, I don’t think that’s what Wyoming citizens wanted…because a lot are Trump supporters.

Mike Lammers is a retired Cheyenne Democrat and Mike Lammers was 67 years old.

Lammers said that Liz is still my favorite person and she appreciates the work she has done for this country.

However, he claimed that he did vote in the primary for his own party.

“I decided to keep my Democrat status. Even though I am aware that many people are switching to Liz. He said that if he were a Republican, he would vote for Liz.

Trump put his whole weight behind the race – vowing to get revenge for Cheney’s criticism, impeachment vote and top role on the House select committee on January 6.

The Fake News Media will make every effort to pretend that Liz Cheney’s loss tonight was not about Unselects. In fact, this would be an enormous deal. It could even rank among the most important! He posted it Tuesday on Truth Social, hours before Wyoming’s election closed.

Trump called in a Tele-Rally for Hageman on election day and called it ‘one the most crucial primary elections in American history.

“The entire world is watching this,” the ex-president stated.

Hageman, who was critical towards Trump in 2016 and supported Sen. Ted Cruz’s election campaign, was called Hageman an ‘individual I’ve got to know very well’ as well as a “friend”.

He turned to Cheney then.

Trump declared, “This your chance to communicate to the RINOs & the fake media, the radical right lunatics in this country that unfortunately we have too many,” and he said, “Harriet is going to be elected, and Liz Cheney, a warmonger, will be told – so terrible, so negative – Liz! You’re fired!”

Trump stated that “few Congressmen in the history of America have caused more harm to our republic than Liz Cheney.”

Trump stated that Democrats used her to make soundbites. They like to use the phrase “Republican Liz Cheney”, then go on with these horrible anti-Republican and anti-country soundbites. It’s been an absolute disaster.

The former president complained that she had aided and assisted the radical Democrat Party’s unhinged and lawless witchhunt – a witchhunt which never ends.

Cheney had pushed a “phony” and a “grotesquely false, fabricated partisan narrative about January 6,” he said.

Cheney has repeatedly resisted, telling CBS Tuesday that no matter the outcome, it is certain that the start of a fight that will continue is underway.

This statement further fuelled the belief that she might have presidential ambitions.

She said to CNN late July, “I will make a decision about 2024 down-the-road,”

This theory is also supported by her light Wyoming campaign schedule, which she did due to security concerns.

Cheney’s election events are not made public because of safety concerns. Reporters are alerted only when necessary. Security is heavy and paranoia runs deep in Cheney World, probably for good reason,’ wrote This Town author Mark Leibovich in The Atlantic last week.

According to the New Yorker, she is accompanied by an armed Capitol Police security guard.

DailyMail.com was provided with the only information a spokesperson could give about her plans for election night. It was confirmation that she intended to speak.

There is no word yet on whether or not she will cast her vote in person.

Members are expected to travel home from their states when the House is not in session.

Hageman has been doing the more typical gripping-and-grinning associated with winning an election.

Trump Jr. appeared with her at a rally in May. A Cheyenne election night event will be held.

Trump said that she was the “best president” in his lifetime for addressing the regulatory burden he deals with. She responded to this by telling her, after Trump delivered remarks during the conference call on Monday night.

Her career as an attorney, where she often challenged government regulations on environmental issues, earned her this praise. High Country News published a 2009 profile on Hageman. It also noted that her tendency to wear all-black, gothic outfits gave rise to the nickname.

Hageman, however, has not only accepted Trump’s liars about election, but he also said that Democrats do not want voter ID laws “because they want cheat.”

Trump grumbled, “Because that is what they do.”

This Hageman is a newer version of the 2016, who Cheney, who was first running for House of Representatives, supported him and was active in working against Trump.

Hageman attended the 2016 Republican National Convention (Cleveland) as a delegate representing Cruz. In a desperate effort to make Trump lose the nomination, Hageman joined a group who wanted to unbind’ delegates.

The attempt didn’t succeed and Hageman claimed she was fooled when The New York Times featured Hageman’s involvement in the September 2021 incident.

She stated that while she had believed some of the lies Liz Cheney and Democrats told at the time, it is now history and that I soon realized that these allegations about President Trump are false.

“He was the greatest president I have ever known, and I’m proud that I was able to nominate him again in 2020. And I’m proud to strongly support him today,’ the House hopeful added.
