The stunning white-haired, lion-like lion has been a major attraction in a South African wildlife sanctuary.
Simon Needham (55) was the director of Glen Garriff Lion Conservation and photographed this well-dressed Lion at Harrismith.
Amazing photos capture the male white lion roaming around the conservation.
The Glen Garriff Lion Conservation was awe-inspiring as this white lion displayed impressive hairstyles while it roamed the Glen Garriff Lion Conservation
The white-haired, lion-like creature seemed to be aware that a camera was pointed at it and sat down.
A first image depicts the lion lying on the ground with its magnificent mane, and another captures the animal in mid-roar.
Simon stated that he captured the images in order to support @GGConseervation via social media. “It is always an amazing feeling to take images that will benefit the charity for which I am shooting.
It is hard to draw attention to worthy causes, but powerful visual images can help people get involved.
“All endangered species need our assistance if they are to survive for our children, grandchildren.”
The lion’s unusual white appearance is caused by a condition known as leucism – which causes a partial loss of pigmentation in animals
This photo shows the lion’s sharp, dazzling teeth in their full glory. It was taken just as it began to roar.
These species will not be extinct if we don’t continue to support them.
White lions, despite appearing albino-like, are actually the result of rare colour mutation called leucism.
This condition causes a partial loss of pigmentation in animals, resulting in the distinctive white appearance.
Common causes of leucism include a recessive mutation, also known as a “colour inhibitor”.
Glen Garriff Lion Conservation was the first to introduce a lion in 2002. Now, more than 70 lions are under the care of the organization.
