The Met Gala’s A-list Hollywood stars certainly made a fashion statement Monday, but not for the right reasons.
It’s the first Monday in May, which means that it is time for the Met Gala. This star-studded gala, held at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, is one of the most coveted and talked about events.
Many A-list celebrities attended the glamorous soiree that was called the most important night of fashion. It was hosted by Anna Wintour (72)
And while some seriously slayed the red carpet with their stunning looks, others completely missed the mark – including Camila Cabello, Sarah Jessica Parker, Billie Eilish, Gemma Chan, Chloe Grace Moretz, and Lala Anthony.
There were many sartorial disasters at the Met Gala, from bizarre structural frocks and tacky all-leather outfits.
Cabello, 25 years of age, wore white with flower ruffles and unflattering floral sleeves – an outfit that appeared to be inspired from cereal fruit loops. Her midriff was clearly visible thanks to the gown’s long train.
Jessica Parker’s puffy, black and white gown was not enough to draw attention. The 57-year old Sex and the City graduate paired the outfit with a large, choker-style headpiece, which ensured all eyes were focused on Parker.
Chan (39), Crazy Rich Asians’ star wore an ensemble of black and silver that included a box-like, awkwardly-shaped dress.
Anthony (39) made a fashion mistake in her sparkling maroon bodysuit with matching skirt. She paired it with an unusual and striking silver and maroon headband.

Camila Cabello (25), wore a long, white gown with floral ruffles and unflattering hemlines. It was reminiscent of cereal fruit loops. It featured a train that was long, leaving her midriff exposed.
The Havana songstress kept her long brown locks pulled up in a bun. The awkward outfit was completed by a flower headpiece and long, dangling earrings.
Sarah Jessica Parker’s puffy, black and white gown was not enough to catch everyone’s attention. The 57-year old Sex and the City graduate teamed the look with a large, headpiece, which made sure that everybody’s eyes were focused on the outfit.
Korean actor Ashley Park (30) was certainly the worst dressed when she arrived at the Met Gala wearing a hot pink feathered dress with large bows on the back.
Unflattering bows were also included in the off-the shoulder sleeves of this dress. This strange look was paired with bright green heels by Emily in Paris.
Fredrik Robertsson was a creative dictator and chose to wear a strange costume. The theme for this year’s event is ‘Gilded Glamour’ – a nod to New York City’s Gilded Age
Billie Eilish (age 20) chose a light, flowing white dress that was more appropriate for a wedding. It featured a large, purple flower at the center and green sleeves.
Amy Schumer (40) looked somber in an all black dress and long, slender strings. Also, she wore dark sunglasses
Lala Anthony (39) made an embarrassing fashion faux pas wearing a matching maroon skirt and bodysuit.
Chloe Grace Moretz 25, chose white bellbottoms with ruffled sleeves and a scarf. The look was paired with a collared, silver jacket
Wendi Murdoc (53), wore a pink, feathered dress that resembled a Flamingo to Monday’s Met Gala at Manhattan’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Normani (25), a member of Fifth Harmony, chose a combination black shirt/skirt combo that didn’t quite hit the mark. The revealing top featured large puffy sleeves, a turtleneck and thick collar. She paired it with an odd hat.
Winnie Harlow was 27, and attended the Met Monday wearing a white, bulky dress with attached tassels
Eilish (20 years old) wore a white, silky gown that seemed appropriate for a wedding. This gown featured a purple, large flower in its middle and sleeves made of green lace.
Moretz, 25 years old, chose white bellbottom trousers, ruffled blouse, and scarf. The look was paired with a collared, silver jacket
These celebrities were not the only stars who failed at the gala.
Korean actor Ashley Park (30) was certainly the most unattractive when she arrived at the Met Gala wearing a hot pink feathered dress with large bows on her back.
Normani (25), a member of Fifth Harmony, chose a combination black shirt/skirt combo which was not right. She paired her revealing top with a large turtleneck and puffy sleeves with an unflattering hat.
Riverdale’s Madelaine Petsch, 27, wore a yellow, floral gown that was a little too bright. The noticeable number contained large, puffy sleeves and numerous ruffles
Tennis player Caroline Wozniacki, 31, suffered from a fashion fail in her navy blue dress. The unstylish gown had cut outs in the center and contained large, puffy sleeves
Skier Eileen Gu, 18, was seen sporting a tacky, all-leather look on her way to the Met. She paired the small, strapless, black dress with knee high leather boots
Norwegian actress Renate Reinsve, 34, had eyes on her for all the wrong reasons. She donned black leather pants, and an interesting black and white crop top for the event
Former Miss USA 2007 Rachel Smith’s dress didn’t hit the fashion mark. The 37-year-old beauty queen wore a long, white gown with black flowers all over it; she paired the haltered dress with a big, black belt
Sebastian Stan, 39, sported a Pepto-Bismol-colored pink tracksuit to the event. He paired the attention-grabbing look with matching pink sneakers
Madelaine Petsch (27), from Riverdale wore a bright yellow floral dress that was slightly too bright. It featured large puffy sleeves with a lot of ruffles..

Model Precious Lee, 32, was spotted at the event in a dramatic, sheer, black dress. She wore a coreset over the figure-hugging gown, along with sparkling black gloves, a silver choker, and a black head piece
British actress Jodie Turner-Smith, 35, wore next to nothing on the Met red carpet. The silver, shimmering, barely-there gown left little to imagination

On the first Monday in May each year, Hollywood’s top celebrities take to the red carpet, often wearing lavish costumes that have become a fetish for many.
While some celebrities wore their finest clothes to the gala, which was co-chaired and hosted by Blake Lively, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ryan Reynolds, Regina King, and Ryan Reynolds, others wore seriously questionable attire.
The theme for this year’s event, which marks the opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, is ‘Gilded Glamour’ – a nod to New York City’s Gilded Age.
This year’s soirée sees the gala return to its first Monday in May date for the first time since 2019; it was canceled in 2020 amid the COVID pandemic and delayed to September last year over safety fears.
