The moment Marilyn Monroe sang “Happy Birthday” was the best. It was this look that I remember.

Fashion’s largest night takes place on the first Monday of May. It raises money for New York City’s Costume Institute. Last year, the event was moved to September because of the pandemic.
The dress code for this year is “gilded glamorous” to go with the theme of “In America, An Anthology of Fashion,” a continuation of the last year’s “In America. A Lexicon of Fashion.”

The gala’s sartorial theme is, as usual, based on the exhibition the gala opens: “In America: An Anthology of Fashion”, which is the second part of Andrew Bolton’s show that explores the origins of American fashion.
This exhibit will showcase some lesser-known designers, and also some top film directors, including Sofia Coppola, Martin Scorsese, host King, and last year’s Oscar winner Chloé Zhao.
Bolton claimed that eight directors were creating what he called “cinematic vignettes” in the American Wing museum’s period rooms.

Met Gala makes a lot of money for the museum and is the Costume Institute’s main source funding.
