Peter Chadwick is a millionaire escapee who flees U.S. authorities for four years. He was later sentenced in 2012 to 15 years imprisonment to live after pleading guilty.

British-born Chadwick, 57, strangled and drowned his 46-year-old wife Quee Choo Chadwick in the bathroom of their Newport Beach ocean-view home in California on October 10, 2012 before dumping her body in a dumpster in San Diego, prosecutors said.

Chadwick has been under surveillance by law enforcement for more than four years after fleeing the US on a $1.5million bond on suspicion of the murder of his wife.

In 2019, the U.S. police worked closely with Mexican officers to locate and arrest an international fugitive. 

Chadwick’s identity was discovered when he was searched. He had been on the run and used a fake ID card, as well as being a spy for Agents of Shield.

Now, nearly 10 years after Quee’s murder, Chadwick has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder under a plea agreement on Wednesday and was immediately  sentenced to 15 years to life in prison.

After pleading guilty in 2012 to the murder of his wife, millionaire fugitive Peter Chadwick was sentenced to fifteen years to life imprisonment.

Chadwick, who was facing a first-degree murder charge but accepted a plea deal on a lesser count, tearfully told an Orange County judge that he was sorry for killing Quee, calling her a loving and caring person, the Orange County Register reported. 

Chadwick stated, “I wish it could go back.” Chadwick said, “I made matters worse by fleeing from it.” I destroyed everything so the court will decide what I should do.

Chadwick stated, “She was a wonderful person,” Chadwick continued. ‘So loving. She was a caring person. 

Chadwick, as part of his plea bargain was not permitted to reduce his sentence because he had already spent time in county prison while awaiting trial.  

According to prosecutors, Chadwick strangled his wife from Malaysia on 10/10/12 at Newport Beach, during an argument about a possible divorcement and financial problems.

Two of their three children were left behind by the parents after they failed to collect them from school. 

The children were driven home by another parent who requested a welfare inspection from Newport Beach Police Department. Quee and Chadwick could not be located.   

As a result, police went to the home to check on the Chadwicks and officers found blood stains in a bathtub and signs of a struggle in the master bedroom, including broken glass and a bloody towel, authorities said.

Chadwick, who was near the Mexican border in San Ysidro the following day, was taken into custody and charged with Quee’s murder. Chadwick led investigators later to the body of his wife Quee. It was wrapped in blankets and dumped in a dumpster at Lakeside, a San Diego suburb. Her murder was brought to his attention.  

Chadwick, who was awaiting his murder trial, was released from jail on December 21st 2012 on $1.5million bond. He then lived with his father in Santa Barbara. However, he disappeared from his father’s Santa Barbara bail before he was scheduled to appear in January 2015 at the pre-trial hearing.

His international status made him a fugitive. He was then placed on an U.S. He was placed on the 15-most wanted list by Marshals Service and offered a $100,000 reward for his capture.

The US searched Chadwick in the U.S. and Canada for him. 

Prosecutors stated that Chadwick had “strategically put indicators” such as receipts in the Seattle region and literature about Canada.    

Investigators discovered that Chadwick was being assisted by family and friends. The investigation lead to Mexico, where Chadwick was arrested on August 4, 2019.

“Three young men lost their whole reality when their mother was killed by their father,” stated Todd Spitzer, Orange County District Attorney. This was after Chadwick was sentenced to Quee’s murder. 

It took many years of hard work by police to locate this defendant to bring him to justice for the murders of his wife and mother of his sons. 

“We carefully considered Q.C.’s wishes before we made the decision to plead guilty.Her family and especially her boys, who already have suffered loss of both their mother and father so young in their lives.

Quee was described by her brother and sister in written statements that were read before the court. A devoted mother who was inquisitive, compassionate and chatty.

Her older sister said that it was hard to believe anyone would do this to another person, not even his wife, and (the) mother, of her three young children. “It is beyond my comprehension how Peter, after torturing her, was so barbaric in disposing of her body like a useless piece of garbage.
