Police were overwhelmed with reports of Cleo Smith, a missing girl who disappeared from a remote camping ground in Western Australia two weeks ago, being spotted by the public.
Rod Wilde, Detective Superintendent, is leading the investigation. He said that there were more than 200 tip offs claiming to have seen four-year-old.
However, the little girl has not been contacted by any of the calls.
He stated, “Unfortunately all of them have failed to produce results.”
“That’s also been national, other policing authorities have helped us and followed these leads through for us, so that’s something we’re very thankful for.
Ellie Smith, Cleo’s mother, posted another heartbreaking video to Instagram, asking the public for help if they have any information regarding her disappearance.
The family was also targeted by sick Facebook trolling who bombarded them with ‘disgusting’ and ‘horrible’ comments.

Cleo Smith, a pre-schooler dressed up as an astronaut, is still missing from remote Western Australia. She disappeared almost two weeks ago from a camping ground.

Cleo’s mother Ellie Smith (pictured together), posted another heartbreaking Instagram video urging people to contact police if any information is available about her disappearance.
The blonde-haired girl was last seen sleeping with her mother, stepfather Jake Gliddon, and younger sister Isla at the Blowholes camping site near Carnarvon in northwest Indiana.
Cleo was initially believed to have wandered off from the remote campsite. However, investigators now believe that she was abducted by a child predator in the wee hours of the morning.
Investigators conducted land, sea, and air searches in the area but no sign of the missing child was found. Police also admitted that they don’t have any concrete suspects.
Superintendent Wilde stated that more than 100 campers stayed at the Blowholes site and were interviewed by police.
“We believe that there are still campers who were staying in the Blowholes vicinity, but we haven’t yet identified them,” he stated.
Police are also still looking for a car witness claims was driving in the area at Cleo’s disappearance.

Detective Superintendent Rod Wilde (pictured), who is leading the taskforce in the mystery case, said that there have been more than 200 tip-offs claiming they have seen the four year old.
The vehicle was heading towards Carnarvon when it turned south off Blowholes Road.
The timing of the car sighting coincides well with evidence from other campers, who reported hearing screeching tires rapidly leaving the campsite at 3am.
The witnesses were driving north on North West Coastal Highway to get to work when they spotted a mysterious car leaving the camping grounds.
They couldn’t give a description of it or how many people were inside because it was too dark.

Investigators have searched the Blowholes area (pictured), conducting air, sea and land searches. However, no sign of the missing child has been found. Police admit that they do not have any concrete suspects.

Cleo Smith’s mother, Cleo Smith, has shared a heartbreaking video in which her daughter is seen dancing in her living room before being abducted.
Cleo in pink dress as a ballerina was another heartbreaking video posted by her mother to social media.
The Instagram story also featured the child wearing pig-tails and dressed up as an astronaut. Later, she was holding a cupcake that had a sparkle in it.
The post read, “My kind-hearted baby girl, mummy want you home,”
“If you have any information, please call the police!”
The family is reeling in pain, anguish, and sickening internet-trolls attacked them by sending them abusive messages and blaming their disappearance for Cleo’s disappearance. Despite police having dismissed them as suspects.

Witnesses claim that a car was traveling in the area at the same time as Cleo (pictured playing an xylophone), and police are still trying to locate it.

The West Australian was told by a friend of the family that the insensitive and hurtful posts were a ‘utter disgrace’.
‘Most of the Facebook comments are being made by parents themselves and I think that’s disgusting,’ he said.
“Imagine if this happened to them, and all these terrible comments they had to read during the most difficult time of their lives.
“Jake and Ellie have been cleared by the police. I have known them for many years and I can say that they are the most wonderful people I know. My heart aches for them.
“They didn’t have anything to do this, and those behind their keyboards should just leave the poor family alone.”
