Russian troops threatened Wednesday to strike the command centers in Kyiv, Ukraine, if Ukrainian forces continue to attack Russian territories.

“We are witnessing Ukrainian troops’ efforts to execute sabotage, and strike Russian territory,” the Russian defence ministry announced in a statement. The Russian defence ministry stated that if such situations continue, they will attack decision-making centres in Kyiv.

The threat against Ukraine’s high command – including president Volodymyr Zelensky – came after Russian regional authorities claimed gunfire was heard on Wednesday near a Russian village in a western region which borders Ukraine.

As authorities from the Kursk region contradictory reported what had happened, they also deleted an earlier statement that stated that a border crossing was under threat.

According to Korenevsky district, “Anhour ago, gunfire could be heard on the territory adjacent to Gordeevka.” This statement was made via Telegram. “There were no casualties nor damage on our part.

Russia was also at risk as Presidents of Poland (Litauska, Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania) travelled to Kyiv by train to meet Zelensky. The picture includes the quartet meeting in the capital.

Four Russian Russian bordering Ukraine, and Russian-controlled Crimea said Monday that security was being increased in response to possible provocations from Ukraine. 

Moscow sent thousands upon thousands of troops into Ukraine for what it described as a special military operations’ on February 24, and has now accused Ukraine of targeting its borders regions. This includes attacking a fuel depot located in Belgorod, earlier in the month.

Kyiv has remained unclear or denied that it had launched any attacks on Russian territory. 

Western countries have warned repeatedly about false flag events by Russian forces in order to justify its military action against Ukraine. 

Authorities in Belgorod, Voronezh, and Bryansk announced Monday that they had increased security measures and encouraged citizens to exercise greater caution. 

Kursk in another region that borders Ukraine was also the first to announce similar steps on Sunday.

Alexander Gusev (the governor of Voronezh), stated that during the Russian military operation in Ukraine’s Donetsk People’s Republic or Luhansk People’s Republic special operations, anti-terrorist security issues became more urgent because of possible provocations from Ukrainian nationalists.

Vyacheslav gladkov, Belgorod’s governor, stated that the region would take additional measures to protect itself against terrorist threats until April 25. This region is bordered by the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Luhansk areas of Ukraine.

Gladkov advised that people should avoid crowds in public areas, keep their identity papers on hand, plan for an emergency, be prepared to evacuate, and give attention to strange vehicles and strangers near homes.

Bryansk is a region that shares a border to the Chernihiv and Sumy regions of Ukraine.

On April 1, Russia accused Ukraine of attacking an oil facility in Belgorod, a Russian city that is just across the border from Ukraine. A video from the site showed smoke rising and flames in the air.

The attack was denied by Ukraine, even though video claims to show Ukrainian helicopters at low altitudes away from the facility.

Roman Starovoit (the governor of Kursk), announced that police and military personnel would establish checkpoints on Sunday. This was less than one week after the alleged firing at border guards in the area. 

Russia threatened when the leaders of Poland, Lithuania and Latvia traveled by train from Poland to Kyiv in order to see Zelensky.

According to Lithuanian President Gitanas Nuseda, the presidents of four NATO nations on Russia’s border planned to send a strong message of support for Russia and provide military aid.

Nauseda, Estonian President Alar Karis and Poland’s Andrzej Duba were also scheduled to meet with Egils Levits from Latvia about possible Russian war crimes including civilian massacres.

Nauseda claimed that the leaders visited Borodyanka near Kyiv, where evidence has been discovered of atrocities.

On Twitter, he said that “This is where dark sides of humanity has been shown their face.” The Russian army committed brutal war crimes that will be punished.

Andrzej Da, Polish President, said the conflict in Ukraine was terrorism and demanded that all those guilty of crimes be held accountable. The same applies to those who give the orders.

Duda said at a press conference that this wasn’t war. It was terrorism. He was previously in Bucha outside Kyiv where he saw the bodies of the civilians who were killed by the Russians.

Russia has denied targeting civilians, and dismissed war crimes allegations made by its soldiers as false news. 

Meanwhile, the Czech Republic on Wednesday reopened its embassy in the Ukrainian capital that was closed after Russian troops invaded the country.

The Foreign Ministry stated that the diplomats had returned to Kyiv, and that the Czech flag has been flown at the embassies.

The statement said that Wednesday’s action was a’step to support Ukraine’.
