A young mother died from Covid, after her family believes she contracted the disease while on a night out in Birmingham.

Shreece Ford (26), from Castle Vale is believed to have contracted the disease while out for dinner with her boyfriend on August 16.

Realle, the carer, left behind her three-year old daughter Realle. Realle had diabetes which made her more vulnerable to the virus.

She was hospitalized for weeks fighting Covid. She was then put on dialysis and succumbed several infections. Before she died a fortnight after her death. Her family didn’t reveal whether she was vaccinated.

Ellesse Strong, her cousin and heartbroken sister, told BirminghamLive that she was in shock and completely devastated.

‘Shreece hadn’t been out in a while, but she decided to go out with her boyfriend. That’s where we believe she caught Covid.

“She began to feel very unwell, and she struggled to breathe.

“She went to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, and her condition worsened.”

“Doctors decided to put her in an ICU and put her to sleep.”

Shreece was placed on dialysis to her kidneys, oxygen for the lung and blood pressure support.

Shreece had blood clots in her heart, and was later diagnosed with multiple infections.

Her cousin explained that her diabetes had made her immune system weaker than normal, which “affected her illness with Covid more.”

She continued, “They tried to wake her up a few times but each time she got worse and had to put her back in bed.

“She was in hospital several weeks. On October 8, shortly after 6.30am, her mum received a phone call from her saying that she was experiencing deterioration every minute and had to return to the hospital.

“We all got calls to go to the hospital so we went to the hospital.

“Unfortunately, only five people were allowed to enter to say their farewells. She was able to hear her baby’s voice before she passed away and her brother and mum were there to hold her hand until her final breath.

Ellesse claimed that Shreece was devoted her family and loved Realle.

She said that Shreece was the perfect mother for Realle. She loved her so much and was a great supporter of her.

“Realle is experiencing a lot of difficulties at the moment. It’s all still very raw, and she keeps asking her mum for help. It is so heartbreaking that she was so young.

The carer, who leaves behind her three-year-old daughter Realle, had diabetes, making her more susceptible to the virus

Realle, the carer, left behind her three-year old daughter Realle. Realle had diabetes which made her more vulnerable to the virus.

‘Shreece was a beautiful woman with a beautiful smile. She lit up every room that she entered. She was so kind and caring.

“She loved her family, friends, and had time to spend with everyone.

“She was a caregiver and was planning to return to work when Realle started preschool.

To raise money for Shreece’s funeral and to throw a party for Realle’s fourth birthday, the family has set up a GoFundMe account.

Ellesse stated that they had always planned for Realle’s fourth Birthday and that we would love to throw her a fantastic party.

“She is very upset because she lost her mommy. We want her to smile again and give her the party she would have wanted.
