Mother-of-22 Sue Radford has been forced to defend her ‘expensive’ spending after social media users accused her of ‘flaunting her wealth’ after buying a £750 mattress.

The mother of Britain’s biggest family, from Morecambe, Lancashire, took to Instagram over the weekend to showcase a fancy Emma mattress that she had added to her children’s bedrooms.

Yet the £750 price tag left some social media users offended, with one viewer writing: ‘Disgusting waste of money, you should remember where you came from and start giving back instead of flaunting your “wealth”.

‘Are people so blind not to see that you’ve taken advantage of freebies, cause no amount of pies would be enough to cover the expensive items you’ve been bragging about.

Seriously so many people are homeless and starving,’ the viewer added, seemingly outraging Sue who shared a screenshot of the comment to her Instagram stories and responded to the remark.

She wrote: ‘Oh I do, we’ve worked extremely hard to get to where we are now. I think people forget that we don’t just have our bakery, we also work very hard on our media company and filming for our new program just like lots of other “influencers.”

‘I hate that word but most YouTubers don’t also run a very successful business.’

Showing off her mattress purchase, Sue wrote on her social media account: ‘We just upgraded the mattresses in the girls’ bedroom to @emmasleepuk mattresses and they are so so comfy!’

But fans were quick to check the cost online and were left in disbelief, with one writing: ‘That’s a completely crazy price! Just as well yours are gifted!’

A second said: ‘Why don’t these companies give to people that can’t afford it and have health issues? It’s a joke, because when someone’s got loads of kids they get gifted items.’
