Mother-of-3 (pictured), also suffering from type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure, died on November 5 at the hospital. This was just two weeks after she began experiencing symptoms.
Neil, Paula’s husband, is 51. He said that the death of his wife has turned their lives upside down.
The beloved mother-of-three first showed symptoms of the deadly virus on October 20 when she first came down with a ‘runny nose and cough’.
Neil spoke to MailOnline and said that she was brought to the hospital by an ambulance on Tuesday morning with a runny nose, cough, and chest pains.
“She was transferred quickly to the Prince Charles Hospital’s intensive care unit for Covid patients. It was unbelievable to me when the doctor called and told me that she had contracted the most severe case of Covid since the outbreak.
It all happened too quickly. Losing Paula was so painful.
According to Wales Online, Paula, her husband Neil and best friend Beth Hughes, died in an 11-day induced coma.
Paula was to be admitted to London to test a new drug. However, it wasn’t effective.
Neil stated that the hospital was amazing. The doctors did all they could to save her and wanted to recommend her for treatment in London. However, nothing worked.
“She passed away on November 5th, two weeks after her symptoms began – it left an enormous hole in our hearts.

Neil shared that Paula’s death left the family ‘heartbroken.’ However, the siblings wanted to tell others the story of Paula’s tragic loss so they can warn other people about the terrible effects of covid.
He stated that she was an incredibly loving, generous woman and that her children were always first. She was devoted to her family, including two sausage dogs and a cockapoo. She was extraordinary.
“Since Paula passed away, it has been tough. Every day it gets harder. However, I must be there to support the children. That’s what matters most.
“Some think Covid doesn’t pose as much of an issue this year as last, but in reality it is. It is a fatal virus that can cause death.
“I had Covid October along with two of my daughters, and Paula seems to have picked it up from one of them.
Neil stated that his wife’s passing has reshaped their lives (pictured),
“On her death, I was also sent a letter by NHS to inform me that Paula would be able to get her booster vaccine. My heart broke.
We’ll keep her memory alive forever. I will always remember her. She was my everything, and we were together for 21 years. I’m heartbroken.’
Beth Hughes, Paula’s close friend, set up a fundraiser in order to send her off with a special message.
Beth posted the following on GoFundMe.We lost an extremely special woman tonight (November 5th) at the tender age of 37. She was also double-vaccinated.
“This incident has deeply affected her husband. He is a kind, well-respected person in this community. They will not be the same.
“Our objective is to raise money to send this lady off with a special message, and also show our support for the family in this very difficult time. It is not possible to prepare for the death of a family member at such a young age.
