A mum from Australia has shown thousands how to fold clothes in a space-saving way before long trips by impressing everyone.

Chantel Mila (known as Mama Mila on TikTok, Instagram) said that her simple fold helped ‘prevent wrinkles’ and’save space’

The Melbourne mum-of-two showed her followers two easy ways to fold tops and pants into little ‘rolls’ of clothing.

Chantel Mila, who goes by Mama Mila on TikTok and Instagram, said her easy fold helps 'prevent wrinkles and saves space'

One mum in Australia impressed many with her simple, space-saving folding method of clothes prior to long travel.

1. T-shirts, shirts

Mila laid the t-shirt flat onto her bed. To make a collar, Mila inverted the t-shirt and folded four inches of it. It was similar to an open sleeve.

Then she folded her sides inwards so that the shirt had a narrow line.

After removing the top, the mum then folded it down to reach the cuffs and pulled the shirt in.

Mila first placed the t-shirt flat on her bed. She then inverted and folded the bottom four inches to make a cuff, much like a sleeve that has been folded up

Next, she folded the sides inwards until the shirt was a slim line and then folded the t-shirt from the top until she reached the cuff and tucked it in

Mila laid the t-shirt flat onto her bed. The bottom four inches were then folded in half to create a cuff. This is similar to a folded-up sleeve.

2. Shorts, pants, and jeans

Due to their arrangement, bottoms fold more compactly.

Mila just folded each leg of the pant up, then folded it in half. Then she folded them inside themselves until they were compact enough to be comfortable without becoming bulky.

The mum’s simple fold impressed thousands of viewers.

“So many clever folds!” One woman said it.

“This is a great idea – I am always carrying extra bags because I do not have enough room! I added one more.

An Australian mom and full-time traveller, she shared her tips for traveling to foreign countries with 130,000 followers.

Evie Farrell, her daughter, has been to seven countries, and she blogs about it on her mumpacktravel page.

Travel after Covid can be more difficult than before. Ms Farrell found many ways to travel luxury for less. She used ‘the pillow hack,’ carry-on luggage only and made good use of the app ‘Sleeping in Airports’.

Jetsetting mothers often purchase lounge tickets to help them plan their airport departures and arrivals. These are typically around $50 and allow for the use of hot meals, beverages, and Wi-Fi.

Evie Farrell has travelled to seven different countries since the start of the new year, some with her young daughter and others alone, blogging about her journey on her page mumpacktravel

Ms Farrell might choose to take her carry-on if her trip doesn’t last too long. She won’t have to worry about her bags getting lost at different airports.

For swimming, she uses cubes.

Ms Farrell shared her infamous ‘pillow hack,’ which helps those who struggle to pack everything into their small carry-on.

To ensure everything remains neat and tidy she swears by packing cubes for swimming costumes, underwear and bras so they don't end up jumbled together in her bag

So that everything stays neat and orderly, she makes sure to pack cubes of swimming clothes, swimwear and bras in her bag.

This is an inexpensive tip that I shared with my daughter last month, when she was traveling to Vietnam in carry-on. Mamamia explained that every airline permits passengers to bring a pillow. Instead of a real pillow in the bag, they allow you to pack the pillowcase and clothes inside.

“You’ll need two pillows cases. First, pack your clothes inside the first pillow case. Then slip the second one on top of it. Make sure the opened end of first pillowcase faces the closed side of the second.

Ms Farrell will wash her clothes before leaving the country that she is in transit through, especially Asia.

The woman said, “So I have a lower-risk option for you to choose from and it also includes this. Yeah, so the other day I noticed it had a zip so I opened it up, there’s the memory foam – goodbye sunshine!

“And instead, I have my pants on display, but they shouldn’t be visible, soz.

“There are some tights I am putting in and also my hat. There is enough space to store my leggings, my T-shirt, and my T-shirt.

“Look at how full this is. I have tightened it, and we’re good to go.

Her final tip is to use the Sleeping in Airports website to see which airports having the best ratings, hotels nearby or, if you get stuck, the best places to have a nap before your next flight

She recommends that you use Sleeping in Airports to check out the ratings of airports, nearby hotels, and, if necessary, where to go to rest your head before taking off.

This way she is ready for her next trip, should it be back to back.

You can wash and dry your whole travel wardrobe at very low prices in Asia as well as other parts of the globe. Everything is washed and packed in my luggage. When I arrive home I put it back in my wardrobe.

Ms Farrell stated that she used to sleep in airports in between flights before Covid. Starbucks was her favourite place, but it is easier to relax in a lounge than in an actual hotel room.
