The North East Hampshire MP said that anyone who witnesses the law being broken at festive season get-togethers should report it, even if it is just a guest lighting a joint.

Nick Ferarri, the host of Nick’s show, told him that he has never been to a party at which drugs were taken but would report it if he did.
Mister Ferrari then asked Mr. Ferrari: “What advice do you have for my listeners?” Because it’s moving to the party season, it is highly likely that someone might get out a joint. Someone who doesn’t use drugs, what should they do?’
North West Hampshire MP and Mr Malthouse responded: “Well, my advice for anyone witnessing the law being broken, is to report it the police.

Johnson spoke in Liverpool today and promised to be’very tough’ on gangs that take drugs from the urban centers into areas more wealthy.

In the strategy, there will be more money available for addicts to get help with their addiction. Sources at the Home Office denied yesterday that this new approach would result in less users going to prison.

Johnson also stated, “What we are saying is that we won’t be sitting idly watching when lifestyle users use Class A drugs as well, and we will be taking tougher action against them.”
Boris Johnson had earlier warned middle class drug users he will not sit ‘idly by’ and let them fund crime as he unveiled a £300million narcotics blitz.
While joining forces with police for a dawn raid in the morning, Prime Minister David Cameron warned that recreational users could be stripped of their driving and passport licenses.
If their numbers are discovered on dealer’s phones, they could also be subject to text message from the police.
Priti Patel, writing in The Daily Mail today warns that repeat offenders may even face home curfews.

He added: ‘We are looking at doing things to tackle those so-called lifestyle drug users who don’t think they are part of the problem. The problem is being created by all of the demand.

Sir Keir Starmer stated that the Tories’ cuts in criminal justice funding over the past decade are responsible for many of the issues the government is trying to solve.
Johnson, speaking in Liverpool, also promised to take’very harsh’ action against gangs using drugs to transport people from poorer areas of the country.
He added that he was not content to stand by while lifestyle drug users are using Class A drugs.
“We’re looking into ways to address those lifestyle drug users that don’t believe they’re part of the problem. The problem is being created by all of the demand.

They are part of the law and order package which also includes:
- £145million in funding to help the police smash the county lines drugs gangs bringing misery to towns and cities across the country.
- All rape victims will be able to provide evidence via video link. This is a step to increase the woeful prosecutor rates.

“You have to be more tough on county lines gangs and the criminals doing it. But you also need to ensure that those 300,000. people are found and helped.

The Home Office said part of the £300million drugs package would be used to dismantle 2,000 county lines drugs operations
“You cannot just arrest them and then put them in prison time after time. You have to rehab them as well.

The overall cost of drugs crime is estimated at £20billion a year.
Sir Keir starmer claimed, however that many of today’s problems are due to cuts in the criminal justice budget during the Tories’ ten years at power.
Following Monday’s Covid-19 booster at Macey’s London vaccine centre, Labour leader was compelled to make the remarks.
Sir Keir answered a question about the forthcoming Government drug strategy. It is clear that drug problems have gotten much worse in recent years. Particularly issues related to drug-related deaths as well as county lines which can lead to the destruction of lives.
The Government must answer questions not only about the current plans but also the money they took out of it over time – many millions, if not millions of pounds have been taken away from the system in the past and that has created a lot more problems.
“So I’d like to see all the plans.
Today’s Daily Mail reported that the Home Secretary stated today that ministers were determined to reduce demand from “recreational users”, such as students or middle-class professionals. ‘Their actions are directly leading to an increase in violent crime and people dying – but they pay no price. She writes that this will change.
“We will bring down all legal penalties and other consequences that could be imposed on these drug addicts. This includes criminal sanctions, penalties, curfews and compulsory drug awareness classes, as well as the removal of their passports.

Priti Patel writes in today’s Daily Mail that repeat offenders might be subject to home curfews.

Further powers will be granted to the authorities for the purpose of seizing passports or driving licences belonging to middle-class individuals whose behavior fuels the trade.

Yesterday, MrJohnson stated that the Government’s ten year drug strategy would seek to end the vicious trade in drugs which is “killing children”.
Although the primary focus will be on closing down the remaining 2,000 counties lines, the Prime Minister issued an advisory to those who use the money to maintain the industry’s viability.
It’s considered a victimless crime by many. According to him, it’s not. “We will look into new ways to punish them. These things will really interfere with their life. We will therefore take away driving licenses and passports.
Whitehall sources claim that the texts are intended to shock recipients. They stated that too many people believe they’re anonymous while buying drugs. The idea behind this is to make them think again. They’ll find the message from the drug squad instead of their dealer if their phone is lost.
I refuse to watch evil gangs make children suffer
PAR PRITI PATAL FOR DAILY MAIL
Drugs can ruin your life. Drugs are an affliction that fuels violence and criminality in our society. These people destroy families, communities and relationships. The misery that they cause is incalculable.
Drug misuse was responsible for nearly 3,000 deaths in England and Wales last year. This is more than the combined total of knife crime and accidents on roads.
The main driver of crime is drug use. The majority of murders and violent offenses are committed by drug addicts.
Criminal drug traffickers are run by evil people who have no limit to their wickedness. Since years they exploit and abuse vulnerable children for their drug trade and then enslave them to their evil networks. These sickening gangs use children as young seven to distribute drugs.
I, the Home Secretary will not allow such dehumanising exploitation or criminality to continue.
This is why we have over 11,000 extra officers out and about in every community across the country.
These gangsters are more well-funded and have the resources and tools to take down drugs and gangs and make our communities safer.
And our approach is working – there has been a 14 per cent fall in overall crime, excluding fraud and computer misuse, in the last two years.
Over 1,500 deals lines were shut down in our county lines program. More than 7,400 arrests were made and over 4,000 children and adults have been protected. We must do more.
The government today released a ten year drug strategy. Our focus is on reducing crime, saving lives, and sending a clear message to the criminals – if you peddle these substances across our community, we will come after you with the full force of the law.

Boris Johnson, yesterday spoke out saying that Government’s ten-year drug strategy would turn the tide against the criminal trade that’s “killing kids” (File Image).
Also, this means destroying the criminal and drug supply networks.
Drug supplies have been seized thanks to our National Crime Agency (police) and their incredible efforts.
Just last month, the National Crime Agency seized 418kg (922lb) of cocaine found in a lorry with a street value of £33million.
It also includes seizing assets and money from the corrupt gangs and locking them up. We want to close down more than 2,000 counties in three years by working with police.
We will help drug addicts and their treatment by breaking the cycle.
Our schools will focus on early prevention and we will support vulnerable young families.
When drug abusers are sentenced they will be sent to treatment. Prisoners will also be referred after release.
We will be imposing tougher penalties on those who violate the law as we try to reduce and decrease the drug demand. For those who are deemed’recreational users’, like students who take illegal drugs without thinking about the crime they support and the people they exploit, this means that there will be harsher sanctions.
Their actions are directly leading to an increase in violent crime and people dying – but they pay no price.
It will be different. These users will face the most severe legal consequences and penalties, which include criminal sanctions, fines as well as mandatory drug-awareness courses, and removal of passports.
There is no doubt that some people fall for the trap of drugs more than others.
Unfortunately, misuse of public funds is more common among homeless people than it is in cities and towns along the coast, as well as central London boroughs. We must all work together to solve the problem.
Every aspect of state has come together for the first time in many decades to combat crime and drug abuse.
Central government, local government, the police, prisons and probation services, the courts, the education system, the health sector – everyone. All of us want to solve this problem and save lives.
It is a nationwide fight where criminals will be pursued and those in need of our support will get off the drugs.
