“Nobody takes away my husband from me”: Ukraine’s President Zelensky, and Olena his wife are now REUNITED almost three months after Olena fled to safety with her children during the invasion of Putin’s Ukraine. She tells television chat that he has not changed since she left.

  • The Kyiv leader was absent from Olena his wife since Russia invaded.
  • With their children, Mrs Zelenska and her husband 17 years old, they fled Ukraine to seek refuge in an unexplored region.
  • In a TV interview that they recorded earlier in the day, they appeared together
  • Olena stated: “He was a reliable husband, a reliable man previously and that’s what he is still.”

Zelensky, Ukrainian President, met Olena his wife for a cup o’ tea. This was their first interview as a couple since Russia invaded.

Olena and their two children aged 9 and 17 fled Ukraine with Olena.

They are now safe in an unknown part of the country and away from threats made by hostile invaders.

Mrs Zelenska stated that she wasn’t surprised by her husband’s indomitable leadership and bracing resistance against Russia.

She said, “Nobody can take my husband from me. Not even war.”

‘I can’t say that Volodymyr has changed since the start of this war. He was both a faithful husband and man of integrity before the war, which he still is.

‘His point of view hasn’t changed, the way he’s wired hasn’t changed.’

Olena, who is also a screenwriter said that her husband’s speeches weren’t always what she liked and that she didn’t have the time to read them.

She explained that he sometimes uses too many literary tools and sometimes not enough.

President Zelensky stayed firmly on message, stating: ‘We weren’t the ones who started this war but we will be the ones to end it.’

This news was made as the Russian invasion of Azovstal Steelworks in Mariupol ended and Putin began a fresh assault on Donbas.

Russia has been driven out of Kharkiv (the second largest city in Ukraine) by the Ukrainian authorities over the past few weeks. This was the fastest retreat they have made since March when they were forced to flee the Kyiv-North region.

But they are able to retake some of their ground in Kharkiv. They still have control over large parts of the South and the West, though the fight in Mariupol is finished.
