More than 27,000 migrants crossed the English Channel this year after 900 others completed it last Thursday and Friday.
The Home Office reported that 29 boats carrying 917 people were intercepted by Border Force and rescued from the frozen waters.
French authorities stopped 560 other migrants also from travelling.

These migrants have been flooding the border with dangerous weather for nearly two weeks after it became almost impossible to cross treacherous shipping lanes.
The sea route was a preferred way for smugglers to travel in winter. However, the increased use of inflatable dinghies allows traffickers to keep sending migrants along the 21-mile stretch.
Smugglers have been forced to abandon land routes due to the pandemic, as well as increased security at freight terminals.
