After being in an accident on the road, Ospreys Hooker Ifan Phillips was taken to hospital with ‘life-altering injuries.
Phillips is stable and being treated by Morriston Hospital. It took place on Sunday in Swansea.
Kevin Phillips is the son of a former Wales and Neath player. He has been a 25-year-old Ospreys player for 40 games and was an international Wales Under-20.
Ospreys issued this statement on Monday: “The Ospreys confirm that Hooker Ifan Phillips was involved with a serious accident on the road in Swansea, Sunday afternoon. She is being treated at Morriston Hospital.”
“Ifan is stable and is at the top of our thoughts here at Ospreys.

The family was overwhelmed and deeply grateful for all the help received during the past days.
The Ospreys have requested that Ifan and his loved ones be kept private at this very difficult time.
Phillips suffered ‘life-altering’ injuries after a crash between two motorcycles.
South Wales Police appeal for witnesses. The incident occurred between a Kawasaki and a Triumph Street Scrambler.
The statement read: “Officers appeal for witnesses to a serious traffic collision which occurred around 1.38pm Sunday, December 5, 2021 on the B4603, Morfa Road in Landore (Swansea), opposite Landore Social Club.
The collision resulted in two bikes colliding, one green Triumph Street Scrambler motorcycle and one Kawasaki.
One rider was taken into hospital and treated for life-threatening injuries.

Phillips is now in stable condition. He was treated at Morriston Hospital for the injuries sustained during the incident.
“The road was shut down for several hours while investigations were ongoing. We thank everyone who helped during that time.

A crowdfunding page has been set up for Phillips with the aim of raising £10,000 to go towards his rehabilitation. So far, just under £7,500 has been donated.
Following his impressive performance with Toby Booth’s head coach, Booth signed him a new Ospreys contract.
Ospreys regional rivals Cardiff, Scarlets and Dragons offered support.
