After filming him performing a sexual act on a pet dog, a teenage paedophile was jailed.

Sam O’Connell (19) also kept photos of child sexual abuse and told a psychologist that he had fantasized about girls and boys younger than five years old.

Scarborough’s teenage boy, also interested in horses, was discovered to have more than 6400 inappropriate images. Some of these pictures showed young children being raped.

O’Connell’s cell phone was subject to an extensive forensic investigation. It revealed that he had taken an extreme pornographic image showing him performing a sexual act with a dog. He also maintained ‘paedophile books’ which provided guidance about how to sexually abuse and attract children.

On Wednesday, he was placed in jail for 2 years and 4 months.

John Holby was the prosecutor and stated to the court that he told psychologists about his sexual interest in animals.

‘He stated that he was a child pornographer and had tried unsuccessfully to film children at the beach.

He said that he used a chastity belt to prevent him from abusing his children.

Police were able to seize 48 electronic devices and the chastity belt from O’Connell’s home after conducting a search.

O’Connell was called in to question some of the items, including an iPhone, laptop, and hard drive.

Detectives were able to find thousands of child-degrading images on his phone and laptop, which he admitted to.

Even though he thought he knew better, the teen categorised all the pictures that would be found on the device as “Category A”, B, and C.” 

Holby also stated that he told police that he dreamed of having sexual intercourses with children and that he thought about sexual fantasies about children when he was near them.

“He indicated that he is interested in children below 12 years of age, in particular those between 1 and 5 years. [years of age].’

Police also seized eight additional devices and analysed them. They found 6,440 images as well as three paedophile manuals. 

O’Connell had obtained the manuals online using an anonymous and encrypted browser. 

One manual, titled “How do you get and hide your child?”, provided guidelines on “how to draw children with a view towards sexual abuse” as well as how to conceal them from the police.

A second guide was called “How to befriend, molest and love children”.

Police also found videos of O’Connell engaging in sexual activity with a 17-year-old boy and a ‘list’ of sexual paraphernalia, including lubricant and a collar, which he either used or plan to use with the boy.

O’Connell also shared messages with another man that included a clip of O’Connell abusing a pet dog.

My Holby stated to the court that the messages contained references to both men’s ‘past and futur sex with horses and dogs’.

O’Connell was subsequently charged with 10 offences including making indecent images of children, possessing extreme pornography or bestiality, possessing the three ‘paedophile manuals’ and prohibited or cartoon images of children.

He said, “He claims he hates his self for these offenses.”

Judge Timothy Clayson passed the sentence. He said it was a serious case and involved an extensive collection of indecent imagery.

Judge said that there were still extensive investigations into certain electronic devices.  

O’Connell was told by O’Connell that he explained to him his interest in very young children. 

“The police have recovered from some devices three paedophile manuals that are very serious.

O’Connell was sentenced to two-years and four months in prison and then placed on the 10 year sex offenders’ registry.
