Palace aides have claimed Meghan moaned she wasn’t getting paid for royal tours, agreed to the Oprah interview six months before Megxit and reduced staff to tears with bullying and tantrums in a bombshell new book.
The explosive extracts of the forthcoming book, Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown by Valentine Low, were published by The Times today.
The new book tells how during the royal tour of Australia in October 2018, Meghan did not understand why she had to shake people’s hands or do walkabouts.
Staff reportedly heard her say: ‘I can’t believe I’m not getting paid for this.’
It also describes the Duchess of Sussex’s attitude towards her staff, describing a meeting where Meghan lambasted a young female member in front of colleagues over a plan she had presented.
After the woman told her that it would be difficult to execute a new plan, Meghan said: ‘Don’t worry. If there was literally anyone else I could ask to do this, I would be asking them instead of you.’
Meghan is said to have berated staff repeatedly, including one occasion when the an employee fell foul of the duchess over a mixup involving press at an engagement.
They said when they tried to call Meghan: ‘She’s not picking up. I feel terrified.
‘This is so ridiculous. I can’t stop shaking.’
An insider said: ‘There were a lot of broken people. Young women were broken by their behaviour.’

A palace source claimed Meghan complained she wasn’t being paid royal tours. However, Meghan agreed to the Oprah interview six month before Megxit. This reduced tears to staff with bullying and tantrums as part of a shocking new book. Photographed in Johannesburg in 2019.
One employee was “completely destroyed” by the experience, they said.
Another incident was when Meghan called an employee several times while out for dinner on Friday, to complain about something she felt had gone wrong.
According to the staffer, “Every 10 minutes she had me go outside to be shouted at Harry and her.” It was, “I can’t believe you’ve done that.” You’ve let me down. Was that what you were thinking? This went on for about an hour.
The calls continued for days, and they were added to the call list again the following morning. A staff member replied, “You couldn’t escape them.”
Samantha Cohen, Samantha Cohen’s private secretary was apparently’screamed’ at both before and after the couple flew to Australia.
According to a source, Sam said it was just like being a teenager. They made it impossible, and they pushed her beyond limits. It was all she could do.
“She was always having to fight on Harry’s and Meghan’s behalf,” said a friend. “While taking all the abuse they deserved.”
Similarly, she allegedly told one of Harry’s advisers more than six months before they were engaged: ‘I think we both know I’m going to be one of your bosses soon.’
Advisor David Manning was one of several royal aides who quit. He would say to colleagues, “You’re dealing with a very complicated lady.”
In another extract, palace press chief Jason Knauf wrote an email in 2018 to Prince William’s private secretary Simon Case about ‘very serious problems’ with Meghan’s behaviour.
It read: ‘I am very concerned that the duchess was able to bully two PAs out of the household in the past year… The duchess seems intent on always having someone in her sights.’
One extract explained how after Meghan’s assistant private secretary, Amy Pickerill, handed in her notice, she refused to travel with her to an engagement that morning.
According to reports, Meghan was asked by a senior adviser to treat staff with respect when she suggested that they should. Meghan replied “It’s my job not to coddle people.”
Harry and Meghan claim that they attempted to cheat the rules in order get a diamond-tiara for rehearsals ahead of their wedding. Meghan’s hairdresser was not available in London. However, palace staff said it was strictly protocol.
Harry, who allegedly spoke out about Angela Kelly’s dresser and insulted her face in response to Elizabeth II summoning him to a private meeting, was given a downgrade by Elizabeth II.
According to a source, ‘He was put in his place. He had been downright rude.’
Another insider claimed Harry was afraid of being overshadowed by his nephew Prince George, the next in line for the throne.
According to the source, ‘He was fixated on this one thing. He had a shelf-life. He was fixed. [on] this. He would liken himself to his uncle [Prince Andrew].
He would then say, “I have the time to make that impact.” It’s because I can,” was his thought process until George was 18 years old. “Then I will become the only-ran.”
A palace source also revealed to Valentine Low that Meghan told Harry she would break up with him if he didn’t announce publicly they were dating.
A portion of the book says that a source claimed she said: “If you don’t give me a declaration confirming my love for you, then I’m going to end our relationship.”
An insider added: “He was panicking, and he said that she would dump me.”
As Meghan arrived in London with her husband, security was a concern. Unfortunately there wasn’t an easy way for Meghan to have full-time police protection. This created tension between the palace of the newlyweds.
Elsewhere, it claimed that in August 2019, before their Africa tour, the couple’s US team were working on several deals including with Netflix, Harry’s mental heath series for Apple+, Meghan’s Disney voiceover and an interview with Oprah Winfrey slated for the autumn.
Samantha Cohen, the Queen’s former assistant private secretary, advised them to also do an interview with the British media, suggesting Tom Bradby of ITV.
Meghan was reportedly reluctant, however the Duke of Sussex agreed on the condition that they did not do the interview together or appear in the same shot as this would be contrary to their Oprah deal.
Palace sources claimed that the couple received gifts constantly from jewelry, fashion and perfume companies while they were living at Kensington Palace.
The PA refused to accept the luxurious items and remained true to protocol which states that royals do not accept gifts from the commercial market. This led to clashes between Meghan and her PA.

Charles is known to want to heal his relationship with his son and his wife, even saying how much he loved them in his first address as King, making it ‘very unlikely’ he would ignore such a request if it happened, one source said.
Buckingham Palace and the Sussexes have not commented on the claims, however royal sources told MailOnline that Meghan would be ‘very unlikely’ to trouble the King as he mourns his mother after yesterday’s funeral and as he grapples with his first days as King.
An insider stated that it would not be possible for the Duchess of Cambridge to send a formal letter to King Harry directly to request a meeting. Harry would then have direct access to Harry.
Although William and Harry are now able to put aside disagreements about royal events, there is still concern over Harry’s memoir. This was especially after the explosive interview that Harry and Meghan did with Oprah Winfrey on March 20,21 in which they accused an unnamed royalof racism.

Prince William, Prince Harry and Prince Harry join in the procession after the state hearse carries the coffin to Windsor
Prince Andrew and Prince Harry were both again banned from saluting during the procession to Westminster Abbey on Monday – while other royals including King Charles III, Prince William and Princess Anne all performed the gesture.
The Queen’s coffin was brought into the Abbey by members of the Royal Family. Andrew and Harry, who are not working royals, simply stood still as they weren’t allowed to wear military uniform.
This is because Andrew and Harry were not allowed to salute at Westminster Hall’s funeral procession. Andrew also refused to salute at Edinburgh’s vigil.
Andrew and Harry were banned from wearing military uniforms during events that followed the Queen’s passing at Balmoral. This is an example of their limited participation in the Royal Family.

The only royal prohibited from wearing military uniforms at funerals and ceremonial events is his uncle, the Duke of York.

MailOnline by Jessica Taylor
The Queen Consort Camilla advised The Firm’s Duchess of Sussex that she was “unresponsive” to it when she joined, according to royal books.
Angela Levin has written a new biography about the Queen Consort. She claims that Meghan’s former Duchess of Cornwall organized lunches and tried her best to make her feel welcome into her family. However, her advice was rejected by an unresponsive Meghan.
An extract of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall: A Royal Survivor, which was published in the Telegraph, Levin claims Camilla was keen to help Meghan at the beginning of her relationship with Harry after herself struggling to be accepted by the Royal Family, and ‘warmly’ welcomed her when she first arrived in London.

Angela Levin has written a biography about the Queen Consort Camilla. It claims that Meghan was eager to be welcomed into her family by the former-Duchess.

Levin said Meghan wasn’t responsive to Camilla trying to help her understand the greater scrutiny that she was likely to face as a senior member the Royal Family. (pictured: Queen Consort, King Charles and Harry at Charles’s 70th Birthday).
Levin also added King Charles to his list, which was at the time Prince of Wales. He enjoyed Meghan’s company, and frequently spoke with her about theatre, art, and politics.
To help Duchess Sussex “find her feet”, the Queen Consort offered advice on how to deal with the pressure of being a public figure and the scrutiny that she would be subject to as a senior member the Royal Family.
Levin quoted an unnamed source who told her at the time: ‘She doesn’t want to see anyone struggling and she is fond of Meghan.’
Camilla made efforts to get Levin involved, but the Duchess claimed she felt bored and preferred to do things her way within The Firm.
In acknowledging Duchess Sussex’s hard work ethic, the author noted that she had contributed to a cookbook which was put together in 2017 by Grenfell Tower firefighters.

The royal book claims Harry proposed that Harry bring in a mediator for the healing of the family rift. To which Queen Consort Camilla “spat out her tea”. Pictured: Queen Consort Camilla, King Charles, the Duke and Duchesss of Sussex at Monday’s Queen’s funeral
Levin, in a tribute to Meghan’s efforts with the Grenfell Community, noted that Camilla Santa Cruz and Camilla were invited to Highgrove by the Queen Consort. Lucia also described the invitation as a’remarkable gesture’.
Levin details the story as another royal publication claims that Queen Consort spluttered about her tea when Prince Harry proposed a third party mediator to repair the gap between Harry and Meghan.
The New Royals, Queen Elizabeth’s Legacy, and the Future of the Crown by Katie Nicholl has been serialised by Vanity Fair. Nicholl writes how the relations between the Duke of Edinburgh and the rest of the royal family became most strained when Harry and Meghan didn’t travel to the UK to attend the Duke of Edinburgh’s memorial service in March 2021.
Reports at the time claimed Harry was concerned about his family’s safety arrangements in the UK.
Nicholl stated that Prince Charles, then Prince of Wales invited Harry to tea just weeks following the Duke’s funeral service. The visit was made while the couple were in the UK, before travelling to The Hague for an Invictus games event.
An unidentified friend of Nicholl said that Nicholl was “awkward” and the meeting lasted around fifteen minutes. It happened just after Prince Charles, Camilla, and the Duchess had arrived late to meet the Duke and Duchess.
They claimed: ‘[Harry]They suggested using a mediator to help them sort out their differences. Charles was somewhat confused and Camilla began to splutter into her tea.
They also added that the Queen Consort had told the Duke that his suggestion was ridiculous and promised to work together to solve their disagreements within the family.
