According to The Sun, a source said that Pete’s relief was due to the negative Covid results. He was able back on stage.

“He hated not being in a position to perform for his fans, but the entertainment industry must be extremely careful about testing and keeping the crew and cast safe.

“It’s been a hard few days but Pete is thrilled that he didn’t have it.” He was so excited to get back to work, and he is feeling much better.

In Princess’ video Pete, who didn’t know he was being recorded, said he didn’t want people to be disappointed by missing the show.

‘He’s been touring with Grease and performing at the weekends without any days off, but he’s been forced to rest up now.

‘He’s really frustrated and keen to find out if it is Covid or something else. He’s upset about letting down his fans but he knows he has to listen to his body.’

MailOnline has contacted Peter’s representatives for further comment.

Pete, who told Princess he thinks he has the flu and is ‘aching’ everywhere, revealed he did a lateral flow test the night before and would do another one.

Peter can be heard saying in the video: ‘I’m supposed to be going to Manchester to do Grease but I’m so sick, I don’t know what to do… I’m so sick.’

A wise Princess told him: ‘How are you meant to do it like that? You’re going to be coughing.’

To which the singer replied: ‘But people have bought tickets. I know… I’m pretty bad.’

Princess said: ‘I don’t think you should go, if you are up there singing and coughing, people are going to be like…

‘Just don’t go. Everyone is saying rest.’

When his daughter asked if this is the ‘worst’ he has felt, Pete said: ‘I haven’t felt like this for two or three years.

‘I had Covid, but that was a different kind of feel, but that was horrible.’

As the Instagram Live progressed, Princess voiced her concerns as Pete continued to cough.

She said: ‘Dad, you’ve got to get a PCR’.

Pete decided to rest up upon the advice on his road manager Carl Machin who firmly told him: ‘I know what you’re saying and I applaud you for it but one you look ill, two you sound awful and three you have to sing live vocals.

‘And also you’re going to be close to cast members, you’ve got to think how you’d feel if you gave two or three cast members what you’ve got and they have to have time off.’

Pete tested positive for Covid back in January after feeling unwell for a few days.
