Police officers are most likely profession to have a one-night stand with a workmate, survey reveals

Police officers are the most likely profession to have a one-night stand with a colleague – with more than four-in-ten confessing to romping with a workmate.

A poll of 2,000 workers found that cops were top of the league for having a fling with a fellow officer.

Over the 20 professions studied, the study found that more than a quarter of all British workers – 27 per cent – admitted having a one-nighter with a workmate.

The least likely were teachers, with just 10 per cent owning up to having a fling with a fellow school worker.

3 – IT workers – 33 per cent

4 – Gas/Electricity workers – 32 per cent

5 – Bankers – 32 per cent

6 – HR – 29 per cent

7 – Accountants – 28 per cent

8 – Shop workers – 28 per cent

9 – Leisure centre workers – 27 per cent

10 – Bus or train drivers – 25 per cent

These were the least likely co-workers to have a sexy relationship with one another:

2 – Social workers – 14 percent

3. – Scientists: 15%

4 – Lawyers – 18.5%

5 – Nurses/Doctors – 19 per cent

6 – Estate agents – 21 per cent

7 – Sales staff – 23 percent

8 – Civil servants – 23 per cent

9 – Engineers – 23%

10 – Charity workers – 24 percent

Retired cop Andy Matthews, of Edinburgh, Scotland, said: ‘Police officers are notorious for having affairs and one-night stands with other cops.

‘It’s never really changed from the days of The Sweeney, with Dennis Waterman and John Thaw always on the lookout for ‘birds’, but it’s not just the male cops on the pull these days!’
