In 2022, “Hot Pink” will be the dominant color on runways and red carpets. 

“I believe that since the last two years were largely based on luxe loungewear and casuals people want to try bolder, more energetic shades of pink. 

“Hot pink” is currently in fashion and models as well as politicians and royalty are all showing their support.

Speaking to Highsnobiety, Daniel Benkendorf, Associate Professor of Psychology at the Fashion Institute of Technology said the reemergence of hot pink is ‘timely’ given ‘fears about the erosion of reproductive rights’.

 ‘I expect hot pink’s moment is just beginning,’ he added.

‘Hot pink represents quite a contrast [to Millennial pink]Because it’s often seen as more aggressively feminine and intense than other boldness.

Millennial pink is a muted, soft colour. It was used as a neutral color that changed the meaning of pink to be more feminine and androgynous. It had a calm and egalitarian quality. It demands attention because it is hot pink.
