According to a keeper, George is a porcupine with prehensile tails. Their diet includes a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, and greens.
“Bananas, grapes, and corn are his favorite foods, but George also loves sweet potatoes, which you will see. This sounds like the perfect flavor combination.
“Like many nocturnal mammals, the prehensile tail porcupine is very blind. However their sense of smell and taste make up for this.
The South American native prehensile tail porcupine can be found in forests, deserts and rocky outcrops.
The evolution of their hind and front legs has made them able to grasp objects, an adaptation for living in trees.
