One New Zealand politician, who had just finished giving birth while she was still in labor, cycled to the hospital and gave birth one hour later.
Julie Anne Genter (41), a New Zealand member of parliament, rode her bike early Sunday morning on the way to Wellington.
After being in labor, she gave birth to her baby at 3.04 AM.

The 41-year-old politician said: ‘I genuinely wasn’t planning to cycle in labor, but it did end up happening’
On her Facebook page, the Green Party politician posted: ‘Big news!
‘At 3.04am this morning we welcomed the newest member of our family.
Although I didn’t plan to go through labor cycles, it ended up being a reality.
“My contractions were not that severe when I left home at 2am to get to the hospital. However, they were about 2-3 minutes apart by the time I arrived.
“Amazingly we now have a healthy little one asleep, just like her dad.”

The party spokesperson for transport also biked to the hospital in 2018 to give birth to her first-born, pictured with partner Peter Nunns

Ms. Genter stated, “Amazingly, now we have a happy, healthy little one sleeping, just like her father.”
Dual citizen New Zealand-US was born in Minnesota, and moved to New Zealand when he turned 18.
Ms. Genter Her party’s spokesperson on transport and who’s also a Facebook user with the tagline “I love my bike” has also cycled to the hospital to deliver her first child in 2018.
Genter shared the following Instagram photo: “Beautiful Sunday Morning for a bicycle ride to the hospital for an induction for finally having this baby.”
Jacinda Ardern, Prime Minister of Australia, famously took maternity leaves while she was in office. She also brought her 3-month-old daughter to UN meetings while breastfeeding.
