After a victim in her 50s was found dead in a house in historic Gloucestershire, he 53 years old, was arrested and charged with murder

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman in her 50s was found dead in a house in Gloucestershire. 

Police were called to reports of an injured woman at a property in Bath Road in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Paramedics were called to the scene. The victim, who was probably in her 50s at the time, was declared dead on the spot.

Gloucestershire Police arrested a 53-year-old man from Cheltenham on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident and he remains in police custody for questioning.

An elderly woman was killed in her home in Gloucestershire and a man was arrested for murder.

Now, officers are trying to find the next of kin for this woman.  

Gloucestershire Police stated in a statement that a scene guard was in place at Stonehouse after the murder of a woman. This is being considered suspicious.

“Police responded to calls at 12:30 today on Sunday 28 November from a Bath Road property where it was said that a female had been hurt.

The woman was in her 50s and died at the scene. The next of kin is being identified by officers.

“A Cheltenham man aged 53 years old was arrested under suspicion of murder and is currently being held in custody by police for interrogation.”

Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIAT) is currently looking into the matter. Anybody with additional information is requested to contact police.
