A 32-year-old woman in Philadelphia, seven months pregnant, was shot to death as she opened her gifts at her baby shower. Gunman fired 11 shots into her head, and her belly.

  • The 32-year old woman was pregnant in Philadelphia and was unloading the gifts at her baby shower from her car on Saturday night when she was gunned down. 
  • Around 8:30pm she was shot to the stomach and head at her Lawncrest residence in the 6100 block Palmetto Street.
  • Einstein Medical Center declared both the mother and her unborn child deceased.
  • The incident is still under investigation and police have yet to identify any suspects. 










One Philadelphia mother was fatally shot as she unloaded gifts from her car after her baby shower.  

A 32-year old woman seven months pregnant received multiple shots at the head and abdomen at Lawncrest’s home at about 8.30pm.

The unborn baby and she were both declared dead at Einstein Medical Center.  

The police believed the murder was targeted and found about 11 shell casings on the spot. 

It is not known if any suspects were involved in the crime and it remains under investigation.

As she unloaded gifts from her Kia Soul’s baby shower, a pregnant woman of 32 was gunned down Saturday night. 

She was shot multiple times to the head and belly at her home in the 6100 block of Palmetto Street in the Lawncrest section of Philadelphia

Multiple shots were made to her head and abdomen at her house in 6100 Block of Palmetto Street, Lawncrest.

‘I mean, the person that did this couldn’t be more cowardly,’ Deputy Police Commissioner Christine Coulter told ABC6.

Coulter stated that she had grown tired of seeing the violence and gun ownership in her area.

“The city has nearly 500 homicides. Unborn children are being shot and children are getting killed. What is the city doing to stop this happening? “What is the city doing about this?” she inquired.

“The whole city is doing all it can. It is impossible to stop those who intend on shooting someone. 

“It looks as if someone is looking to target her in this scenario.

Coulter’s anger at violence is not unique. Other residents also voice their dismay.

ABC was also informed by Tom McDonald (neighbor), that “Enough is enough”. ‘It’s time for the city to do something – something.’ 

The shooting was not the only one that occurred in Philadelphia Saturday.

At 3.45 am, another man was killed in his car on F Street.

His head was gunshot to the side by the driver’s door. 

Deputy Police Commissioner Christine Coulter said she is fed up with the area's rising gun violence as the city has amassed nearly 500 homicides this year

Christine Coulter (Deputy Police Commissioner) said that she’s fed up of the rise in gun violence and the fact that the city has already seen nearly 500 murders this year.

There have been 491 murder victims as of 2021. This is a 13.4% increase over last year’s 436.

The City Council of Philadelphia approved in September 2020 a resolution urging Mayor Jimmy Kenney, gun violence being declared a major emergency for the city. As shootings increased, Kenney was urged to sign this resolution.  

Kenney, Fox News reported that Kenney made the following statement in response to last year’s crisis: “Please be aware, our administration takes it very seriously,” 

‘We are committed to working with all of our criminal justice & community partners to create a safer city for us all.’
