The Prince of Wales, and the Duchess Cornwall, will embark on their first major overseas trip since the pandemic. It will include a trip to Middle East.

Clarence House reported that Prince Charles, 72 and Camilla (74), were asked by the British government for permission to visit Jordan, Egypt, and will tour the two countries from November 16-19.

The Royal Calendar includes tours. They allow the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to use the legendary’soft power’ of their offices, opening doors that are not normally open to politicians and diplomats.

But the royal family have had their wings clipped as a result of the Covid pandemic and this will be the first royal overseas tour for almost two years.

Both the prince and the duchess have been double-jabbled and will likely have received boosters by the time they travel. Charles’s trip is treated as a state-sponsored visit since the Queen no more travels abroad.
