Vinisha’s solar-powered ironing cart is a clean alternative to the charcoal-powered street irons that press clothes for millions of Indians each day.

Concerned about the harmful effects of charcoal burning on the health of ironing vendors and the air quality in India, her solar-powered invention allows for iron to be powered by sunlight for five hours.

Vendors can sell on the doorstep as well as at the roadside due to extra mobility. Built-in phone top-up and charging points also bring additional income.

Vinisha’s example shows that by innovating today, the next generation can create a cleaner tomorrow.

The session will begin with the presentation of the winners and finalists of Fix our Climate Earthshot on stage in Plenary Hall.
