Prince William ‘will be enraged after The Crown filmed Princess Diana revenge dress scene only 800 yards from his Kensington Palace bedroom’, sources have claimed.
The Netflix series recreated the evening Princess Diana, played by Elizabeth Debicki, stepped out in an off the shoulder, tight black dress in a break with royal protocol after Prince Charles admitted to adultery on television.
The scene was filmed in the same spot in Kensington Gardens that Diana arrived at a dinner at the Serpentine Gallery in 1994 – a position that can almost be viewed from Prince William’s bedroom and is only 800 yards away, the Sun reported.
According to industry insiders, William is likely to be furious at the decision. They could have picked any spot to replicate the scene but chose a location that William can see from his bedroom.
The Crown will air its fifth series in a high-profile fashion. It will discuss controversial subjects such as Diana and Prince Charles’s divorce, and the aftermath of Diana’s death. The episode also features Martin Bashir’s 1995 interview about Diana.
The source added: ‘Just imagine if he had seen. It is likely that questions will be raised about the permission given for a film to be shot in a royal park. This could also include how it was possible to shoot a drama about which the Royal Family is so unhappy.
“But what’s more amazing is that The Crown was permitted to film in the park, which also happens to be the home of Prince William.”
According to some, the scene that was film in Kensington Gardens in exactly the same location – which can nearly be seen from Prince William’s bedroom – will be furious.

Its release is scheduled for November 2022. This series was seen as potential explosive because many viewers see it as a documentary, rather than a drama.

They were told that they could sue The Crown’s creators. This opened the door for The Royal Family to file a similar suit.
