Princess Eugenie sent a photograph of her son’s baptism that she had not seen. It shows him wearing the replica royal christening dress.

The Queen’s granddaughter, 31, took to Instagram yesterday to share memorable moments from the past year, which saw both the arrival of her first baby son August, but also the death of the Duke of Edinburgh.

The collection included a first look inside baby August’s Baptism at the All Saints Chapel in Windsor Great Park, which was shared with Zara and Mike Tindall’s son Lucas.

The photograph indicates that the babies were christened in the Honiton lace and white satin gown first used at the christening of James, Viscount Severn in 2008 – making August and Lucas the tenth and eleventh royal babies to be christened in it.

Frilly cream is the replica of Queen Victoria’s elaborate christening dress that served as the basis for royal baptisms up to Lady Louise Windsor’s.

At Prince Louis’s christening ceremony at St James’s Palace in London, 2019 the Duchess and Duke of Cambridge held him.

The gown was worn by Prince George, Prince Charlotte, and Prince Louis, along with Viscount Severn. Zara Tindall and Lord Frederick Windsor’s daughters Maud and Mia.

Angela Kelly was the queen’s personal dresser and it features the same long skirt, elaborate collars, bow and ribbon as the predecessor.

It was originally made in 1841 and worn by Prince Harry, Prince Charles, and the Duke of Cambridge.

In her 2019 book, The Other Side of the Coin, Ms Kelly, explained how the replica gown was dyed in Yorkshire tea ‘(the strongest, as we all know)’ to ensure it looked authentic, reported The Telegraph.

She wrote: ‘At each stage of the process I would show our progress to the Queen: first the bodies, then the sleeves attached to it, then the skirt with the under-layers on, and finally the completed robe. Her Majesty was very interested to see how it was developing.’

Queen Victoria, in 1841, commissioned the original Spitalfields silk dress and Honiton lace gown for Victoria.

After Lady Louise Windsor’s April 2004 christening, it was too fragile to use again so the Queen ordered a replica for royal baby wear.

While Eugenie had much to celebrate this year, she also shared some of the more difficult moments of the year – posting an image of her grandparents the Queen and Prince Philip.

The touching picture, taken by the Countess of Wessex, shows the couple at one of their ‘happy places’ – the Coyles of Muick hills close to Balmoral, where they enjoyed walking and picnics throughout their long lives together.

This year has been particularly hard for Princess Andrew. His association with Virginia Giuffre, an alleged victim of sex traficking, is causing growing scandal.

Ms Giuffre is bringing a civil suit against the Duke of York. She claims that Andrew forced her to have sex at Ghislaine Maxwell’s London house after she had spent an evening in Tramp, a claim which Andrew strenuously refutes.

The Duke of York was unable to get the case dismissed by his lawyers on technical grounds. The Duke of York’s legal team wanted to end the case, claiming that neither Ms Giuffre nor the prince are American citizens and thus the US courts do not have jurisdiction.

Prince Andrew is one of a number of prominent men linked to Epstein or Maxwell. Maxwell is currently facing up to 65 year in federal prison after being convicted on six counts for sex trafficking.

Yesterday night Prince Andrew’s family displayed a united front when they were seen for the first times since Ghislaine Maxwell, the Duke of York’s friend and confidante for sex traficking was convicted.

As they walked in Verbier, the Duchess of York joined hands with their daughters Beatrice and Eugenie as well as Jack Brooksbank and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, their husbands.

Despite the scandalous Duke of York’s connection to Virginia Giuffre (sex trafficking victim), the five seemed in good spirits.

According to reports, the family flew out to Switzerland on Boxing Day. Prince Andrew however remained in Windsor at his Royal Lodge residence.

The royal also celebrated the birth of her nice after sister Princess Beatrice gave birth to baby girl Sienna at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in September, sharing a snap of the baby's footprints

Eugenie, whose son was named after Prince Philip, who died at the age of 99 this year, shared a picture of her son August as a newborn

Eugenie (whose son was named after Prince Philip) shared a photo of August when he was a newborn with her.

The Duchess refused to discuss recent events, when she was approached by reporters.

The 62 year-old simply stated, “We are on a family vacation.”

According to Sunday Times reports, Royal courtiers discuss plans to deprive Prince Andrew of his Duke-of-York title in the event that he loses the Virginia Giuffre lawsuit.

The Royal household is also rumored to be considering other options, such as sending the Duke to an ‘internal Exile’ or asking him to give up any charity links.

Ms Giuffre claims that Prince Andrew sexually assaulted and raped her three times while she was 17 years old. He denies this allegation and is now suing for unspecified damages. After the Newsnight disaster, which he hoped would bring his name to light, the Duke of Edinburgh resigned from his public duties in November 2019.

According to a source, “If…” [Prince Andrew]If he loses, then the real question is how do you deal with him. He would have to give up his title, but you can’t force him to resign.

Insiders close to the Royals claimed it would prove difficult to convince the Queen of the removal of the title Duke of York, as it was a title held by George VI (her father) before he became the king, and that she had bestowed the title on her son. According to the Sunday Times, he had ‘disgraced this title’.

Buckingham Palace spokesperson said about claims that Duke may lose his title, “This is speculation. The comments are not supported by facts.” The Duke of Edinburgh is currently a legal issue that we cannot comment on.

According to defense sources, the Duke may be being pressured to give up nine of his military positions. The Sunday People reports that military leaders hope that he will quit so that the Queen does not have to remove his honorary titles.

Senior Army commanders feel it’s not possible for Andrew to continue his position as colonel in chief of the nine military units, regiments and corps, due to the Duke’s friendship with Epstein, Maxwell and Maxwell.
