Fresh speculation has been sparked by Peter Phillips, the Queen’s divorcé grandson. He arrived at his nephew’s Christening to be with an old friend from school he had visited while in lockdown.

Peter (44 years old) was joined by Lindsay Wallace, 40-year-old oil tycoon, to drive to Windsor Royal Lodge for the joint christenings of Lucas Tindall and Zara Tindall’s child, Lucas, and August Brooksbank and Princess Eugenie.

Close family attended, which included Mr Phillips’ grandmother the queen. This was despite her fears that she may have to withdraw due to medical reasons. Close friends of the family, such as Prince Harry’s ex, Cressida Bonas were present.

Peter, Prince Anne’s only son, was divorced by Autumn in June. In March, he visited Ms Wallace’s house in St Cyrus near Montrose in Aberdeenshire. It raised suspicions that he might have violated locks to travel the 460-miles round trip from Gloucestershire.

The royal claimed that the visit to Scotland was to be a marketing consultant to company XF Medical. XF Medical was established last June to offer rapid Covid and anti-Bact tests to businesses. However, sources claim that he was ‘besotted by’ Ms Wallace.

We don’t know if Autumn, who is the mother of Peter and Savannah’s daughters, Isla (nine) and Savannah (10), attended the christening. For the benefit of their children, they continue to live with each other on Princess Anne’s Gatcombe Park estate.

Meeting granny: It is likely Ms Wallace would have been introduced to the Queen, given how few guests were in attendance at yesterday's christening. The monarch, 95, pictured arriving, was able to see her great-grandsons christened despite fears she would pull out after being forced to miss the Remembrance Sunday ceremony at the Cenotaph due to a sprained back

Peter Phillips was three-years ahead of the others at the school. He also knew Ms Wallace for quite a long time. They are believed to have reunited at a school reunion.

A source claimed that the two had been keeping their friendship secret and only the inner circle of friends knew.

The ‘friendship’ first came to light when furious locals called the police on seeing Peter’s car at Ms Wallace’s £475,000 home in the village of St Cyrus in March.

Although officers ‘issued advise’ Peter claimed he was there for business and was therefore not in violation of lockdown rules. According to reports, he had visited Ms Wallace on August 2020.

Peter and Autumn, 41-years-old from Canada, announced their separation in February 2020. Their divorce was finalized in June.

The Queen had previously engaged at Windsor Castle but this is the first time she has been outside of a royal residence for a few weeks.

Penny Junor, commentator for the Sun said that attending the baptism of her great-grandsons would have been an important event.

She stated, “I have never seen two royal infants being christened together in this manner.” A christening for Queen Elizabeth is important because it is spiritual. Being there at the Church of England will also be very significant to her. Zara, Mike and Eugenie are very dear to her.
