A propeller crashes through a plane narrowly missing passengers when it is struck by a bird as the aircraft approaches South Africa.

  • When the Jetstream 41 struck the engine, it was near Venetia Mine.
  • Propeller ripped through plane on one side and broke the window panes on the other.
  • The plane landed safely, but the investigation is underway

After a plane’s propeller was struck by a bird while landing, an investigation was launched.

The Jetstream 41 was nearing Venetia Mine, South Africa. Passengers were terrified as the bird struck the engine so hard that it sent the propeller flying down the aisle.

The incident resulted in no injuries as the blade was able to land in an unoccupied area of the cabin.

After cutting through one end of the aircraft the blade crashed into a passenger window. This caused damage to the glass pane on the other side.

Images taken from the inside of the aircraft reveal a floor littered with splinters.

The plane made a safe landing.
