Here’s the wild moment when a Russian adventurer made a perfect circle out of ice to create his own fairground ride.
Nikolai Zlydnev (35), a farmer from Leninsk in Russia, uses a pole made of metal, an axe and a chainsaw for measuring and cutting the circle.
Then he used the pole for a tiny hole to create for his outboard engine.

Zlydnev laid down on top of a metal bucket, and used the outboard motor on his ice carousel to make him spin a circular motion.
Zlydnev, who was just moments away from the camera, returned with a small bucket of metal and a tiny outboard motor.
To make an impromptu chair, the farmer places the propeller in the ice.
Zlydnev ignites the outboard engine and is propelled round in a circle, waving at the camera.
Zlydnev said that the stunt was “perfectly safe” because the ice was thicker than the water and the lake wasn’t very deep.
In 2019, a team in Finland smashed the world record for the largest ice carousel after carving 27 inches through thick ice to make a 604ft circular block turn 360-degrees.
Janne Kapylehto spent five days with two of his friends Ville Haapasalo, and Ismo Ahpell in Finland creating the 604ft long carousel.
The team, called Kuopio Great Balls of Ice, took breaks in a wooden sauna which they placed in the centre of the disc.

Kuopio Great Balls of Ice was the team that took breaks. They placed a sauna in the middle of the disc.
The team cut two circles parallel using a large compass, a chainsaw and had to get rid of the ice between the lines.
They were able make the circle block rotate 360 degrees when the space between the carousel ice and the rest of the lake ice was closed.
The disc was moved by a solar-powered motor outboard.
