A pub owner claimed that he caught the ghost of their resident on camera, terrorizing guests and making staff fearful.
Sisters Richelle Stocks and Ashleigh Naisbitt have been forced to call out police to the Black and Grey pub in Morpeth, Northumberland over a series of ‘strange’ supernatural incidents.
Spooky CCTV footage from the bar shows objects moving on their own and dark shapes appearing out of nowhere.
One clip shows a pen appearing to spin unaided on Richelle’s hand, causing her to jump up in fright, and a broom moving on its own.
The pair, who took on the pub in August last year, said soon after they heard loud banging downstairs and fearful their pub was being burgled rang the police – who rushed over only to find the building empty.

Police reviewing CCTV footage discovered ‘human-looking’ shadows moving past the bar area in September last year
After looking at the CCTV footage, they noticed that the shadows were human-looking and dragged past the bar.
Richelle invited Paul to the bar for drinks two days later. He was a resident ghost who is referred to as ‘Paul’.
CCTV footage captures Richelle, 28, leaping to her feet and her jaw open wide as she watches the pen appear to turn on its own.
The siblings claim the pub is a hive of paranormal activity, and although they believe ghost ‘Paul’ to be ‘gentle’, they no longer sleep in the pub alone.
Richelle stated that Richelle and her husband were upstairs at the apartment when Richelle woke up in the middle night and asked “What the hell is happening?””.
“It almost sounded like metal banging together. It was like you were holding some pots.
Richelle, 28, (pictured) said: ‘We looked at the CCTV cameras and there was nothing apart from shadows. It was just a shadow that was moving across the bar. There wasn’t any way to create it. The shadow was so mad that I was willing to bet my existence there was someone in the house.
Richelle, 35 years old, said that one of her bar employees was left “too scared” to descend to the cellar by hearing banging. Richelle claimed she felt her bobble head being ‘bugged’.
I said, “Call the police immediately” as there was so much banging downstairs. We were certain we were being broken into.
“We dialled the police, and they said that there was someone downstairs. Someone’s broken into.”
‘The police were called and they came in to say that “there is nothing here. There’s absolutely no disturbance.”
“We looked through the CCTV cameras, and all we could see was shadows. A shadow was seen bouncing across the bar. There wasn’t any way to create it.
“It was mad, because it was my only chance to bet that somebody was in this building.”
Ashleigh, a mother-of-4 said that Richelle and she stayed home after work to discuss the incident. Then another bizarre incident happened.
“One employee was outside the bin area, and one can see where the broom fell. We told him all about the pen and then he got the mick. Then the broom fell and scared him.
Ashleigh stated that Richelle put a pen in her hand randomly and asked “if anybody is there, please move this pen”. The pen spun literally 2 seconds later.
Richelle claimed that Paul’s pen trick scared her and she fled from their manager.
I flung my pen at Ashleigh and stared wide-eyed, wondering “what just happened?” When you can’t believe your eyes, it is when something really has occurred.
Ashleigh and Ashleigh just stare at one another as the manager races out. It was amazing.
“We watched CCTV, and I did not move my hand or tilt it. I also didn’t do any other actions and the pen is still spinning at the center of my hand.
Richelle stated, “If something was to be dangerous or terrifying they could.” They’ve been very gentle, and let us know there is something. But they don’t take it too far. Pictured: Richelle reacts to her sister Ashleigh’s pen in her hand.
Ashleigh shared that their mother contacted ghost hunters in the area to debunk the story, but was unsuccessful.
Richelle, 35 years old, said that one of her bar employees was left “too scared” to descend to the cellar by hearing banging. Richelle also claimed she felt her bobble head being ‘budged on her head’.
Ashleigh shared that there have been incidents with iPads flying from the shelves, refrigerator doors opening behind the bars and many footsteps. It’s quite a bit of activity.
I would not sleep there by myself, no.
‘One day I heard my mother’s voice saying, “hi girls!” I looked around, and she didn’t appear to be there.
Richelle acknowledged that they’ve had some problems with staffing due to antics at an inn.
“One of our staff members was standing by the bins and could see that the broom had fallen. After we explained the pen to him, he took control and the broom fell upon him. He was very scared then.
“Something else” is the only possible explanation. The pub is not creating anything. You’ll find something more there, whether it’s ghosts or another entity.
“I’m not even sure what I believe, but I think there is something that wants us to believe that it’s another.”
“We have been there enough to know that anything could do any harm or be scary. All of it has been gentle. They are letting us know they have something, but not taking it too far.
Northumbria Police spokesperson stated that: “Shortly after 3.40am, September 22, 2013, police received a report about a possible burglary at Black and Grey pub, Morpeth.
“It was reported that the sounds of a break in could be heard, however officers searched for signs and found nothing.
