As Queen Maxima of The Netherlands and King Willem Alexander attended an extraordinary gala dinner today at Oslo’s Royal Palace, they looked stunning. 

A mother of three, aged 50, along with her husband (54), began a three-day whirlwind trip to the country today. The couple were photographed stepping off the plane in Oslo Gardermoen this morning.

The royals were stunning as they arrived at the gala dinner at Royal Palace. Queen Maxima walked in arm-in-arm alongside the Norwegian King Harold (84).

Maxima looked stunning in her floor-length, glittering gown. The dress changed from a dark navy blue to a pearl white.

The pair were also joined at the event by  King Willem-Alexander, as well as members of the Norwegian royal family including Queen Sonja, Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Princess Martha Louise of Norway.

Queen Maxima was in high spirits at the dinner at the Royal Palace in Oslo tonight, and couldbe seen chuckling during a speech by King Harald

The Queen Maxima, who was in great spirits tonight at dinner at Oslo’s Royal Palace, could be seen laughing during King Harald’s speech. 

It was embellished with subtle sparkles, which shimmered when she moved. This made it a focal point for her matching diamond earrings and tiara.

She wore a sheer draped, sheer cloak around her shoulders that complimented the dress. A royal red satin sash was worn underneath and pinched together with a sparkling brooch.   

The Netherlands Queen chose a dramatic look for her makeup, opting to wear a dark eye and mimicking the colour of her gown.

King Willem-Alexander also looked dashing, wearing white tie formal attire that included a black coat with tails and matching red royal sash.

He walked into the event arm-in-arm with Queen Sonja, who opted for a vibrant lime green floor length gown for the occasion.

Mette-Marit, Crown Princess of the Netherlands was dressed in a beautiful floor-length white gown to tonight’s outing.

As Princess Martha Louise was the elder daughter of King Harald V (Queen Sonja), she wore an off-the shoulder lilac dress. 

Despite the heavy rain, the royal visits began earlier than expected. The public was present to welcome them. 

Quests of the dinner looked on as speeches were given and esteemed royals were welcomed to Oslo

As speeches were made and eminent royals welcomed Oslo, Quests of Oslo were seen.

As they were preparing to embark on a state visit in a flash, the mother-of-3 and her husband were spotted getting off the plane at Oslo Gardermoen Airport.

Maxima displayed her style prowess in an elegant emerald-green silk gown. She paired it with chic gloves, pointed stiletto heels, dangling earrings and beige pointed stilettos to complete her look.

The Queen Maxima’s hair was styled with an elegant up-do, tucked under a delicate beige hat. This perfectly coordinated her accessories.

Natural beauty kept it simple and used a little blusher. She also applied mascara to add some color and shelter from the rain under an umbrella.

In the meantime, King Willem-Alexander was dapper in his smart black suit and crisp white shirt, with a yellow tie.

Later Queen Maxima was accompanied by her husband to a wreath-laying ceremony at Akershus Fortress’ national monument.

The Dutch royals were welcomed by Queen Sonja of Norway and Crown Princess Mette Marit. They will be visiting Oslo and Trondheim as part of their whistle-stop tour, which runs from 9-11 Nov.

The Dutch Royal House stated that the visit of the Norwegian state representative will confirm the ‘exceptional relations between Norway, and the Netherlands.

It will focus on bilateral and international cooperation and climate change.

After their July trip to Germany, King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima made a second visit as a state delegation. Their previous three-day trip was postponed last year because of Covid-19.

In Indonesia, the royal couple visited Indonesia between 10-12 March 2020. It was just before the pandemic that closed all borders around the world and forced lockdowns.

The Dutch royals have had a hectic few weeks since they returned last week from a trip to the Middle East to visit Expo 2020 Dubai.

This is the first official state visit to Norway since pandemic. However, Crown Prince Haakon visited California virtualy in April to explore ways to collaborate on sustainability and green initiatives.
