James Cameron, Titanic’s director, says that he plans to make six-hour marathon movies on streaming services, and a shorter version for cinemas.

Canadian-born 67 year-old said that he was thrilled by the chaos streaming services like Netflix have brought to Hollywood.

Variety reported that he said, “I am not afraid.” I love change. I was raised in the 1960s. Chaos is what I love. What we see in cinema is an extended form of it. A movie six hours in length and two hours and half at a time is what I’d like to make. Similar movie.

You can either stream the movie for up to six hours or go to a theater and experience a shorter, more immersive, thrilling version. Similar movie. The difference is that one movie has the novel and the other one the film. Is it possible? Why not?

Cameron's Avatar 2 is set for release later this year. He is planning on releasing films in the series every two years through 2028

Cameron’s Avatar 2 will be released later in the year. The director plans to release films from the series each two years until 2028.

This comment comes amid an era of seismic change within the film industry, accelerated by the pandemic that has seen cinemas forced to close due to lockdowns.

This allows movies to be released directly on streaming sites, which is fast becoming the favorite mode of film consumption for many movie fans.

Netflix, Amazon Prime, Apple and Amazon have all made huge profits which has allowed them to fund their films.

Big hits for Netflix include Martin Scorsese’s Oscar-nominated The Irishman and Uncut Gems, starring Adam Sandler.

Cameron will release an Avatar film every other year starting in this year. Avatar 5 was planned for 2028.

Fox, an old Hollywood studio, will finance the films.

After Cameron’s 1997 record, Titanic (1997), the Avatar first movie became the most-watched film ever.

Variety spoke to him about the difficult task ahead. “2” is in full. The working cut is available for us to add visual effects. It’s a film that I am very confident in. The film ‘3’ remains a little shadowy. This is way too long.

I have not yet turned my energy to a controlled cutting process. But, I do know that I can perform. This is the most important aspect. It was all my responsibility to capture. Most of the live-action shooting has been done by me. Some of my adult roles still have some debts to me. The kids were getting older was more important to us.

Cameron said they needed to get the first two films made before his star actor Timothée Chalamet grew a beard.

The first Avatar movie, released in 2009, became the highest-grossing film of all time surpassing Cameron's previous record-holder, Titanic, released in 1997

In 2009, the first Avatar film was released. It surpassed Titanic (1997), which had been Cameron’s record-holder.

He said that he had mixed the scheduling for “2” and “3”, based on different scenes and environments. Let’s treat this like a miniseries of six hours and only go to Frankfurt one time.

“We will shoot all of the scenes between ‘2 and ’3 simultaneously. It was more or less the theme. Also, actor availability was a concern. Anything that had to be done with a specific actor, we did all the scenes for ‘2’ and ‘3’ together — and a little bit of ‘4.’

‘Because once-again, I had the children out. The children can reach six years of age in the middle story, page 25 of film ‘4. Also, I had to have everything in order before that, and everything afterwards, which we will do after.
