After a four-week trial, Teddie was convicted at Cambridge Crown Court. He had sustained injuries consisting of being ‘gripped’, shaken vigorously, and having his head struck on a hard surface.

And footage from just before Mitchell’s arrest shows him holding his victim in hospital while he sobs and says: ‘Come on baby, Daddy’s here.’

Mitchell and Teddie had been together for around eight months. They lived together.

On November 1, 2019, at 3:00pm, the ambulance crew was dispatched to Pattison Court in St Neots. Teddie was unresponsive and was suffering from cardiac arrest.

Smith left Teddie with Mitchell while Mitchell did her morning school run.

The shocking footage of the Channel 4 show 24 Hours In Police Custody shows the moment that the murderer starts to spit crocodile tears while he is being arrested.

Detective Inspector Lucy Thompson stated that Mitchell is “completely without any remorse nor empathy. That’s what makes it really difficult.” According to The Mirror it is all about Kane, not Teddie.

He said: ‘I don’t f***** think so. O my God! I’d never harm a baby. I won’t leave my son.

Officers were however able to show that Mitchell was responsible for Teddie’s death due to the injuries they inflicted.

Teddie died as a result of his fractured skull and lack of oxygen to the brain.

Witnesses from nearby homes gave statements to the jury that they’d heard arguments from the home on a regular basis. They also stated that Mitchell had lived in the same house since he moved in.

Mitchell stated that he believes Teddie was his biological father during a police interview.

DNA testing after his death confirmed that he was not.

Additional footage shows that police officers monitored Teddie and Teddie while Teddie was in the hospital before making their arrests.

Mitchell was sentenced in February to at least 18 years imprisonment by the Cambridge Crown Court.

Smith was found guilty after failing to call 999 for over half an hour, despite being urged by her GP.
