New research shows that red wine is more effective than beer in fighting coronavirus

  • Covid is a disease that can be contracted by people who consume more than five glasses per week of red wine.
  • Experts think this is because of the high levels of polyphenols in the beverage.
  • Cider and beer drinkers were nearly 28 percent more likely to contract the virus.

According to recent research, red wine may help combat Covid.

A 17% lower chance of getting the virus in people who have more than 5 glasses per week was found.

Experts suspect this could be because of the presence of polyphenols which may inhibit the effects viruses, such as the flu and other respiratory tract-related illnesses.

The risk of contracting the virus was eight percent lower for white wine drinkers than non-drinkers who consume one to four glass per week.
