Moment ‘cowardly’ robbers hurl pregnant woman to the ground as they snatch her keys and steal car

Video footage shows the moment two masked men attacked a mother and her pregnant daughter in the street and stole their car.

The clip, released by Greater Manchester Police, shows the two women – one in her 50s, the other in her 30s – walking in Denton on December 28 when they were approached by the duo and assaulted.

The attackers hurl the pregnant woman on the ground, grab her keys and make off with her Audi TT S.

According to police, the victims were seen getting out of their Audi just moments prior to the attack.

CCTV footage captures the women walking along Bond Street around 5.20pm. Two hooded men then cross the street and move towards them.

Once the first attacker has fled, the second grabs the pregnant lady and throws it to the ground. Meanwhile, the other robber takes the bag from the mother. 

The attacker then grabs hold of the bag and both men run away.

The second attacker then runs back to the scene and grabs hold of the pregnant woman and throws her to the ground while the other robber grabs a bag from her mother

After grabbing the pregnant woman, the second attacker ran back to the scene. The other robber grabbed a bag from the mother.

The incident was captured by the Greater Manchester Police on Tuesday. 

No arrests have been made but Detective Sergeant Peter Goddard called both offenders ‘cowardly and dangerous’.

DS Goddard from GMP Tameside’s Serious Acquisitive Criminal Team said that they are looking for any information regarding this shocking incident in which a pregnant lady was unexpectedly thrown on the ground.

“It is obvious that these cowardly dangerous criminals will attempt to prey on vulnerable persons in the streets regardless of their environment or the time. And we’re doing everything we can to capture them.

“No arrests were made yet, but we continue to investigate and look for anyone that may recognize these men or have footage from a dashcam of the vehicle similar to the one stolen by Audi.

The men stole the keys, then drove the Audi to Hyde Road, according to officers.

The incident happened a day before a woman fought off carjackers who stole her BMW in north Manchester seconds after she returned home from work.

The seven-month old BMW m235i was targeted by the thieves and they followed Roscoe home. They struck as Roscoe was grabbing her belongings from her front seat.

There have been no arrests. Police asked any person with information regarding the incident to contact them at 0161 856 362 and quote incident number 2220, 29/12/21.
