A Royal assistant managing Queen’s Instagram account removed the image of Her Majesty at MI5 in Feb 2020. It was replaced by one taken in 2004 during Remembrance Day.

She also posted an Instagram picture with the caption: “On the eleventh hour in the eleventh month of 1918, the Armistice was signed.” The nation is silent today at 11:00 as a mark of respect for those who served and gave their lives.

Sometimes, important events are marked by the Royal Family changing their profile photos. The last time this was done was after April’s death of the Duke.

While the Queen will not be attending today’s events, she is expected to pay tributes on Remembrance Day at Cenotaph.

The Duchess was given the mantle.

Camilla led the commemorations at The 93rd Field of Remembrance on a crisp, autumn morning just outside Westminster Abbey. This event has been ongoing since November 1928.

Camilla was joined by hundreds of veteran soldiers from previous conflicts as they stood silently while the Big Ben chimes played. As London traffic passed, everyone observed silence for two minutes.

England’s training grounds in Burton on Trent were where Gareth Southgate, Harry Kane and the rest of their squad stood shoulder-to-shoulder in front a St George’s Cross with half mask.

The Queen also shared an Instagram post, with the caption: 'On the 'eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month' in 1918 the Armistice was signed. Today the nation falls silent at 11:00 in an act of Remembrance of all those who have served and sacrificed'
