It was claimed that a Russian diplomat, believed to be connected to the Kremlin’s FSB spy organization, was found dead at Berlin’s embassy.
The 35-year old, who had been serving as the second secretary to the embassy since 2019, was believed to have been found dead outside the building on October 19, around 7.20 am. However, news of his death was first published today.
According to the embassy’s current interpretation, the man fell from the upper floor of a building in Mitte.
The embassy refused to perform an autopsy, so no official cause has been established. Because the man was a diplomat, the public prosecutor does not have the authority to conduct an investigation.
The body of the diplomat was returned to Russia.
